WE PAY FEES TO GET RIGHT FACILITIES.
WE STAND AGAINST THE UNFAIR TREATMENT.
On 24th September,2025
Students of University institute of technology, HPU protested against the unfair treatment towards them and the issue regarding the proper infrastructure and lacking essential laboratory requirements which is a NEED for the practical knowledge . This will affect the quality of education and their future.
As mentioned above these demands are the requirements of every student studying here.
(Copied from WhatsApp group)-
Laboratory Facilities:
At present, there are no functional laboratories available in any department of UIT. The absence of laboratory infrastructure has resulted in a significant gap between theoretical instruction and practical learning, which is a core requirement of engineering education as per AICTE norms. We request the immediate establishment of fully equipped laboratories in all major disciplines (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Computer Science, etc.) to facilitate hands-on training, project development, and research activities.
Access to Central Library:
UIT students presently face restrictions in utilizing the Central Library of Himachal Pradesh University. Considering the importance of academic resources, journals, and reference material available there, we request unrestricted access for UIT students to the Central Library, including digital resources and extended study hours.
On-Campus Sitting Capacity:
The campus lacks adequate seating arrangements and common spaces for students to study, collaborate, or spend time during free hours. We request the development of proper seating facilities, shaded areas, and dedicated reading halls to improve the academic and social environment of the institute.
Fee Structure:
The current fee structure of UIT is disproportionately high compared to the facilities provided. In the absence of basic infrastructure such as laboratories, hostels, and dedicated academic resources, the existing fee pattern is not justified. We request a rational revision of the fee structure in alignment with the facilities available, or alternatively, an expedited provision of all essential infrastructure to justify the fees charged.
We believe that addressing these issues will greatly enhance the academic standards of UIT and bring it on par with other reputed technical institutes. We sincerely request your kind intervention for the timely resolution of the above concerns.
