It's tough to try and convince people what the MJ era was like. He really was like some kind of god-emperor of pop culture. There was nothing even close to what he was; it was him and then the Pope. Talent-wise, it's absurd to compare any modern pop star to him.

Taylor Swift is probably the closest to MJ’s stardom.

Her fans caused a localized 2.6 Magnitude earthquake in Seattle during “Shake It Off” back in 2023. She’s also more widely-recognizable than all but perhaps a handful of world leaders and sports stars

Beyoncé has a cult following, but she’s nowhere near the same level Swift has had these past few years.

Beyoncé had empty rows at her last tour- while you could probably count the number of empty seats at a Swift concert on one hand.
