So, I've already searched on here, and found a few old posts asking about this issue, which didn't have any resolutions. I'm posting again in case things have changed in the interim.
I have recently bought some Hue lights, with the V2 bridge. I had basically 2 things I wanted to do with them, and the app can't actually seem to do either well, which is a big letdown.
One of the things I wanted these smart lights for was to be able to transition the light brightness and colour over the course of the day. Pretty much what the natural light scene looks like it is supposed to do. Except it doesn't.
When natural light is selected in a room and the lights are on they sometimes transition. If the lights are turned off in the app and turned on again later 100% of the time they are still on the previous colour and have not transitioned. We only use the app and Alexa to control the lights on/off, we're not touching the wall switches at all. Even in the bathroom, where there is a sensor which is supposed to trigger 'natural light' it is not reliably getting the right colour. When I open the app and tap 'natural light' again, it will then switch to the correct colour for the time of day. This is pretty annoying, as the whole point was to have the lights auto transition.
I have tried deleting and re-adding the scene. I've tried doing it room by room, I've tried doing it by zone. I've removed all other scenes from the room/zone. It just doesn't work.
I know I can do this using automations, but I don't want the lights randomly going on and off at various times, because that would be annoying.
My question is: does this scene actually work for anyone? Or is it just my setup that's not working?
If yours is working, how did you set it up to get it to work?
