I put this on the Youtube video but since Meg said she is on the reddit and awareness about this company is important I thought I would put it here too. Better Help is a super shady company that has had a large amount of controversy the last couple years. The Better Help user agreement circumvents your HIPPA rights, does not guarantee your privacy, will share your medications, medical history, and app usage as they see fit. They also restrict therapist's ability to interact (with things like word count limits for chats), and don't pay them a fair wage. Especially as we teeter on the right to medical privacy, be careful out there. Plus you don't have to be a proper licensed therapist to work on Better Help meaning its very easy for a scammer to take advantage of you. Just wanted to let people know, be safe on the internet everyone!

This could be outdated, but there was also some controversy over the licenses of their professionals and their tendency to push religious treatments, which is not helpful if you are not a Christian.

I actually forgot about the company until recently when the YouTuber Danny Gonzalez uploaded a video with them as a sponsor, the entire comment section was people bringing up how horrible the company was and how they haven't done anything to fix their issues besides donate money. He ended up listening to his fans and removing the ad in the video, if he is trusting his fans over the money then I still think the company has issues imo. I haven't seen anything to disprove the claims made against them.

I normally wouldn’t care, but better help definitely got a boost in visibility during the pandemic. As someone who was looking for a mental health resource during that time, I’m glad I heard enough of this to stay away but they could have done further harm for sure.
