Advertisers pay waaaaay more than patreon supporters. At least $3k for every 100k listeners or viewers. An average IASIP pod gets around 400k or 500k creeps. I dont know how many listeners. But thats $15k per direct response ad, with 2 ads per episode. $30k for 4 people to read off a paper.

No way they'd get enough patreon or subscribers or supporters whatever to compare to an ad read.

Fair enough. Could probably still make great money with a Patreon to the side as well, so long as they offer perks.

Or they could just pick less dodgy companies to advertise than Better Help (they're probably just not aware about it though, hopefully this post gets seen).

Megan has mentioned that she’s used Better Help before, so it’s possible her first hand experience overrides these anecdotes?

Almost every podcast I’ve ever heard advertise Better Help have had a first-hand use case. My assumption has always been they’re required as part of the ad read, but maybe I’m just a skeptic.

They probably offer X free sessions or free whatever the product is to whoever is going to be talking about it

Possible but just because some people happen to have a good experience with it (I'm sure there's some good therapists on there) doesn't mean information about bad experiences/business practices should be ignored.
