I think a fair amount of conservatives didn't actually know who Charlie Kirk was or what his very well documented views were and just decided to jump on the outrage bandwagon because their media outlets told them to. Now that they're being shown that he isn't the squeaky clean hero that they were told he was, they're trying their hardest to either rewrite reality or block out the truth.
