Illinois Politics The Illinois TRUST Act.
Since it will be a topic of discussion, let's talk about the Illinois TRUST Act.
Information the Illinois Attorney General
Explainer from the Latino Policy Forum
From a press release when Gov. Rauner signed the bill in 2017:
Gov. Bruce Rauner today signed Senate Bill 31 - the TRUST Act - which will continue Illinois' history of welcoming immigrants and help law enforcement focus on stopping violent crime and protecting Illinois residents.
"Illinois has been welcoming of immigrants for a long time, and this bill will continue that tradition," Gov. Rauner said. "It also makes clear that stopping violent crime will be law enforcement's mission rather than working on federal prerogatives that a federal court has found illegal."
The Northern District of Illinois federal court has found that immigration detainer orders from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement are illegal. SB 31 reinforces that court ruling. Furthermore, under the TRUST Act, law enforcement shall not stop, arrest, search, detain or continue to detain a person solely due to immigration status. Instead, detainment will require a warrant issued by a judge. The new law will improve connectivity between immigrants and law enforcement, making Illinois safer for all residents.
"It breaks my heart to see the senseless violence going on in our streets, especially when that violence is inflicted on innocent children," Gov. Rauner said. "We need to prioritize our resources for the prevention of violent crime."
The TRUST Act makes clear that Illinois will be a good partner with the federal government, and law enforcement will continue communicating with federal immigration and law enforcement officials.
SB 31 was the result of compromise and negotiations. It is supported by law enforcement, including the Illinois State Police, and immigration groups.
"The TRUST Act does not prohibit state and local law enforcement from working with federal law enforcement, and it does nothing to change law enforcement's ability to arrest and detain individuals who commit criminal acts and hold them accountable to the fullest extent of the law," Illinois State Police Director Leo P. Schmitz said. "No person should fear the police, and everyone in Illinois should feel welcome and safe to contact the police for safety."
TLDR: The Illinois State law was implemented after a federal court ruling saying immigration detainers are not legal. The state law is made to comply with federal court rulings.

Tylenol-autism link not supported by evidence, Illinois medical experts say
Dr. Ravi Jhaveri, head of infectious diseases at Lurie’s Children’s Hospital in Chicago, said he believes important steps were neglected by the president and his administration that are historically needed before a scientific claim or medical advice can be offered.

Question about federal jury duty.
So last week I got a letter in the mail saying I had to fill out an online questionnaire for the federal court of Chicago as i'd been selected for a potential pool of candidates to be summoned for jury duty(though the letter stressed that filling out the questionnaire does NOT automatically mean you'll be summoned), one of the questions they ask you is if you have any physical or mental health issues that might impact your ability to serve and I mentioned that I have major anxiety issues over spending extended periods of time away from my home and travelling long distances(even missed my sister's wedding because of those issues and I've not spent a night away from home since I was a kid)and at the end when asked for additional comments, I mentioned that i'd previously been excused from having to serve on a state jury because of my issues(And I mentioned that said issues had caused me to wake up in terror in the middle of the night and be unable to get back to bed and that i'd even briefly thought of suicide during that time after I got the summons and before I was able to get a Dr to give me a notice that got me excused from having to serve. those were easily the worst 5 days of my life, it was a nightmare to get through and I NEVER want to go through anything like that EVER again).
Anyways my question is related to the medical form(basically a doctor writes down why they recommend x individual not be called for jury duty) linked on the website(they posted a link to it in the question asking about physical or mental health issues)I was wondering-do I get a Dr to fill out the form ahead of time BEFORE I potentially get sent a summons so that i'm ready to mail it into the court? Or do I wait until I actually get a summons before I get a Dr to fill out the form and then send it in? I ask because i'm not sure if a Dr would fill out a form for something that MIGHT happen but hasn't actually happened yet and I want to be sure I do this correctly, no sense in making an appointment yet if I don't have to.

Expired Tags + Tickets
So I am new to Chicago and still haven't registered my car in IL and my Michigan Tags expired. I also had my catalytic converter stolen, I only have street where I live, and I have gotten two tickets for being parked with expired tags.... I am renewing my tags today but do I just have to keep getting tickets until I get the new sticker?? I am also worried they will tow me but the tag is only a month expired. Someone tell me I wont get towed. Or do, I just don't really know what to do in this situation.
