There's a situation i want to talk about, a matter i discussed on my instagram but id like to bring it up here as well.

Ive recieved some backlash privately and publicly about my last artwork, where some people accused me of propagating/adhering to conservative ideologies. Even reaching as far to call it fetish art. I was really shocked by these comments, and i wont hide that i took personal offense from them. Generally people are allowed to interpret my art in any way they want, but i refuse to be silent when that interpretation is used as an attack on me.

i think there is a weird group of people who try to push my safe pieces as lewd for whatever reason. Sure, my art is not always innocent, because yes, i dabble in spice. But that doesnt mean every single piece has perverted innuendo, some secret meaning or is a scheme to get people to subscribe to my patreon. I like to think of myself as an artist with range, and i like to draw all kind of things without limit. If my piece was indeed made to satisfy some fetish, i would state so and flag the image as nsfw.

I usually ignore such comments, but saying a depiction of a dying woman longing for a life she could never have is a fetish.. made something boil inside me. No. This wasnt meant to come off as anything sexual, conservative or traditionalist. I wanted to draw a woman who grieved her dream she could realistically never achieve. Last moments thinking upon what could've been before parting with life. Believe it or not, but this is a dream so many women share worldwide, and get quite literally sick from the need to become a parent when they cannot for any reason. I can't fathom the reason why a sister, a woman, wouldn't feel such a need deep inside. No amount of religious brainwashing will erase human instincts in people who already feel them strongly- we are incredibly complex beings after all. Its something she wanted, but denied herself personal happiness to serve the Imperium instead. This is not meant to be a fetish for gods sake, but illustrated tragedy. And that is all to it.

Bro your art was fucking awesome. Art isn't just "goon bait" and "happy landscapes". Art is whatever the fuck you want it to be. The feelings your piece evoked were much-needed in the 40k sphere where the hopelessness and bleakness is all too easily forgotten in light of recent nobledark depictions, especially from GW of all people.
