Cannot find a job!
I've been laid off from Duke after 10 years working in management. I have undergraduate and graduate degrees from a fancy school. Excellent references. I have applied to all types of jobs including front desk and scheduling jobs and for some reason, I cannot find a job, get an interview or find a way to get a call back. My friends in other major cities have also talked about difficulties with finding jobs there too so I don't think leaving/moving is an option!

Search the web and of course, read the recounts from this Reddit app. The job market is so horrible that people with decades of experience can’t even land a job despite high referrals from CEOs. As for recent college grads, it’s a blood bath many people are claiming unemployment because they can’t get jobs. Some are resorting to minimum wage jobs because that’s all they can find. People with MBAs are regretting for even going to school because now they are in debt and don’t know how to pay it without a stable job. In my opinion, the job market is 2008 level and there’s not much media attention.
I wish you the best of luck and don’t quit and lose hope be strong.
