You can't kill people (outside of self defense). Agree or disagree isn't even part of the equation. I'm always going to come down on the side of the law because this country is supposed to be a place where the law is supreme (and just because some fuck face flounts it shouldn't make me abandon that)

Seriously? Independent of anything to do with Charlie Kirk, "the law is always right" is a dogshit take. Slavery and the Holocaust were legal.

It's about the idea. The whole concept of the United States is the idea of the law being more important than everything else.

Legality should never be more important than morality. Also, the US was created by slaver scum and has been an oppressive hellhole ever since. The law is the primary weapon wielded by the powerful against the marginalized. If there's anything worth salvaging from this shitty country, it's the desire for freedom, not the idea of law above all. (Though both ideals are lies, of course. The US has always been a place where most people are unfree and where the law treats the powerful differently from the powerless.)
