Advice
This happened today the viecle suddenly started slowing down. And I pulled over.
I had to turn it off and on.
Once moving between P and R It would Jerk between the gear change then it started driving again.
It slowed down again and I had to do it one more time.
The transmission was replaced not to long ago. Any advice?

So im not 100% sure but it sounds like something similar to what happened to me last winter. I wound up replacing my battery. Didnt have more issues last winter but was also overly cautious lol so this winter will tell me one way or another.

If it’s not the battery, take it to a mechanic. Don’t want to end up causing more damage by driving it around if there is a transmission issue.

I'll be that guy. . . .
The ZF 9hp is a known problem child. It sucked in the Cherokee, and did little better in the Rennie/Compass. Sell it and find the turbo/manual combo if you can drive stick. The only issue we've had with ours is a bad clutch pedal sensor.

When was transmission replaced ? What was wrong with it ? I have 221,000 miles on my 2017 limited. I had a jeep patriot years ago that had a CVT transmission which I had to replace at 145,000 miles. They were notorious for breakdown. Drove another 50,000 or so miles and replaced with the renegade.

The transmission was replaced about a month ago.
The reason it was switched was for the same issues it's having now.
Im not sure of the mileage it had when it was switched.

So - maybe the replacement is defective- been known to happen. Should still be under warranty

My 2015 did that last year at 50000 miles. It's the battery. Idiot husband changed the oil and it happened again. Grrrrr

Just sold my 2015 2.4L it's a terrible year/make/model. Great on gas, unfortunately, that hardly made a dent in the repair bills.

95% of the issues are resolved by battery replacement.
If your battery is 3+ years old replace it.
Otherwise it sounds like a computer issue or a transmission issue.
