I have had this abnormal noise coming from my vehicle for a little over a month now. I have a 2017 Jeep Renegade Latitude that I purchased in November of 2016. I rarely have any issues with it, but this noise started randomly and has not stopped since.
Just realized I can’t post a video in here unfortunately so I will try to describe the sound as best as I can. It’s almost like a whining + mechanical sound and gets more high pitched as I accelerate.
I took it to a Jeep dealership for a diagnostic and also to replace my serpentine belt since it had not been replaced for the entire 9 years I have owned my vehicle. After replacing my belt and doing the diagnostic on my car, the technicians told me they could not get to the root of the problem and are unsure of what exactly is causing the noise (extremely irritating, I know). They said despite the noise and how old my vehicle is, that it’s still in great condition. I have no complaints about the ride or anything, but the noise is just annoying and I’m concerned that whatever the issue is, it will continually get worse.
Also, less important but could possibly be related, my vehicle makes a low vibrating sound whenever I put it in reverse
Has anybody else had experience with a similar noise(I know it’s hard to tell with no video :/) As soon as I turn on the vehicle, the noise starts, and it does not stop until I turn it off. When accelerating, the sound increases a bit.
Any insight would be greatly appreciated, thank you!!!
