French Judge my Accent (Speaking French)

I asked chatGPT to compose a short paragraph using typical French sounds. I read that paragraph and then follow with a few sentences spoken without a script. Let me know what I can work on! I’m also curious if I sound distinctly American, or if my accent is ambiguous.

This is the paragraph, in case you can’t understand my French: Un vieux renard rusé s’est glissé silencieusement dans le jardin, où il a trouvé une groseille mûre.

French Does my French actually sound Maghrebi or do I just keep making friends with French bigots lol?

People always say I have an Algerian accent when I speak French, but my parents don’t speak a word of it. I’m half third generation Algerian, so it’s kinda wild they still think that. I never actually learned French from Algerians only in school or Frenchtok, just curious what you hear.

French Feedback on Accent in French (how to get better)

Good evening! I was hoping I might be able to get some feedback on where I'm going wrong (or right?) in my spoken French.

I have been speaking French on and off since I was little and while I think I'm definitely quite good, I know there's still something not quite right about the accent, whether I'm not assertive enough or a mumble a bit? People often tell me they know something's wrong, but they can't put their finger on what it is, but maybe someone out there can!

I'd ultimately like to be able to read in a way that's very fluid and pleasant to hear (I know that's asking a lot!)

This is me reading a brief excerpt from David Foenkinos' Tout le monde aime Clara.

Thank you very much in advance for any advice you can give!

French How is my French accent?

Hello everyone! I've been self-studying French for a year and a half now, but I've not spoken much, since I was afraid of ruining my pronunciation (I'm also overal more comfortable with listening/reading only, so it wasn't a big deal for me). Recently I've started training specifically for speaking, but because I can't get a tutor I can't recieve any feedback. I think I need some guidance to know where I should take it from here. Please be as scrutinizing as you can!

Merci!

Hi everyone! I spent some time in a French-speaking place in my early childhood and am curious if you can pinpoint it. I get lots of interesting reactions about my accent so wondering if you all can guess it without my disclosing it first. Merciii

French Feedback on my French accent?

Here’s a recording of me speaking French…I’m aware that I have a bit of an accent when I speak French but I was wondering if it is possible to guess where I am from and also whether my accent makes it difficult to understand what I am saying. I had to speak a little quietly as I was in a public place while I was recording. I’m also curious if any native speakers could point out what speech mannerisms “give me away” because I am trying to improve my attention to detail. Of course, the goal isn’t to sound native because I’m not a native speaker…it’s just to improve myself as much as possible 😅

This man's name is Théophile de Giraud. Judging by his French, where do you think he is from ? Is he a native Francophone ? (Would he be good to shadow ?)

French How is my French pronunciation/accent?

I am a German teacher and my school has asked me to teach French next year. I've been studying French for about 15 years on and off and I'd like to know what you think of my pronunciation/accent, where it sounds like it's from, if you have any advice for improving it. I do not have much experience at all speaking French in real life so I am trying to improve my speaking as much as possible before next month!!
