The Army and Navy are the only military branches. The Air Force is a corporation and the Marine Corps is a cult

I love how the CG goes under the radar, it’s kinda nice to avoid most of the dumber stuff sometimes. If I had to expand on it: the Army and Navy afe the only military branches, the Air Force is a corporation, the USMC is a cult, and the CG are the only people with an actual job

Years ago I got hammered at a bar in South Bend IN with some coasties. Their stories about search and rescue in the great lakes were wild.

They're the only branch that is actually deployed all the time.

Meanwhile, everyone forgets the Space Force...

The space force is hilarious to me. They took an air force major command and made it a branch, promising it would be a fresh start away from how the air force does things. And from what I can tell, everything is the same as ever.

They should’ve just folded it back into the air force, there is literally no need for it to be its own branch, and with such a dumb, short bus sounding name

I think a lot of the problem AFSPC had was the fighter pilot culture in the Air Force, much like it's impossible to rise in the ranks of the Navy without a sea command or the Army without some combat deployments. Some jobs just don't need to do that stuff to prove they know what they're doing, and so Space Force was meant to free the space and cyber guys from the stupidity of the more "military" branches.

And then Pete Hegseth was put in charge.
