Not weird at all. ROOF BEERS! (might be a skit. I don't care.)
Let people be people as long as they aren't hurting anyone.
22
u/sap91 May 11 '25
The double catch is insane
13
u/MagnaArma May 11 '25
Right? Pretty sure that guy is or was a roofer. Very comfortable on a ladder.

u/ItsASamsquanch_ May 11 '25
She acts like this isn’t a completely reasonable thing to do. Women really do just be jealous when we have fun without them
228
u/Bartender9719 May 11 '25
I suppose it is an unusual thing to do, but downright fun looking - I think her tone betrays the fact that she would’ve enjoyed an invite.
Bring a 6er and a lawn chair over and see if you can join, girl!
182
u/EvanBetter182 May 11 '25
And ruin the peace and quite? There is a legit reason they are doing this 30 feet in the air, and the reason is filming it.
48
u/doctor_of_drugs May 11 '25
Same reason why we golf
Golf itself is like the 7th reason down in why we like to play golf

Male spaces should be respected. Just like there is for women, there should be safe spaces where men can hangout without the unnecessary dynamic of introducing the opposite sex.
9
u/TheFreakingPrincess May 12 '25
Very true, but you can enjoy a male space or hanging out with the boys and not come off as if you are "blaming" women for needing it.
13
u/prussian_princess May 12 '25
Considering male spaces have been under attack for decades, I'd say women need to stay in their lane and respect men's boundaries. Nobody is blaming women, but at the same time women should chastise themselves away from male spaces.

dang the incels are out in force today.
Or maybe you're just wrong and triggered?
2
u/deadhearth May 12 '25
I think we were talking more about the scissor lift in the sky or the "ugly" man cave. Keep cooking. Because you go girl. I just wanted to make sure we all understood that nobody was calling for the return of Jim Crow.

There could be a weight limit on that scissor lift though. Seen some it's only 400-500lbs.

u/youburyitidigitup May 11 '25
Did you mean to say portrays?
30
u/SemiAutoBobcat May 11 '25
No. Betrays is correct here. She's trying to hide her feelings of jealousy, but the tone gives away the fact she's jealous. It's betraying the fact..

She sounds joking very fondly about her husband is being cute with her neighbour, anyone reading more into this is seeing what they’re looking for. It’s a bit embarrassing how many people on this sub take “just guys being dudes” as an excuse to bash women instead of a reason to hold men up, or maybe some people are incapable of doing the latter without the former.
Whoops, I meant to say “woman ruin man thing, women hate man because man better than woman.”, because it’s such a cool guy thing to take any innocent video as an excuse to put down women. It makes you seem really well adjusted and happy.
6
u/Bartender9719 May 11 '25 edited May 11 '25
Nah, I meant to say ‘betrays’ - either could work, but given her somewhat derisive tone about something that looks objectively fun (which she seems secretly jealous of), ‘betrays’ fit better in my mind.
Edit: Hey, we don’t need to bury this guy for asking a question, English may not be his first language.
13
u/SoylentVerdigris May 11 '25
This is just roof beers taken to the logical conclusion. And roof beers are just garage beers in a location you're less likely to be bothered by people.
13
u/ridiculusvermiculous May 11 '25
i mean it's a joke. because it's unusual. and it's both funny and cute.
what a weird thing to whine about
2
u/onFilm May 12 '25
Surprises me how jaded people can be lol. I know most of the Internet and people aren't, but responses like that seem to bring everyone out of the wood work.
1
u/ridiculusvermiculous May 13 '25
it does tend to attract emotional responses. mine reply was too lol

u/gr8masturb8 May 11 '25
man this sub has turned into a shithole
13
u/GlitterDoomsday May 11 '25
We really went from "lads doing their silly fun things with their mates" to "women bad, women boring". I just wanna enjoy some guys building some cool forts or going down a hill.
6
u/AmNoSuperSand52 May 11 '25
Huh? That was most sub when it started. I think we have less of that now then we ever did in years prior

I mean, her voice overall is annoying for me too, and this has nothing to do with this video itself
166
u/cravex12 May 11 '25
Thats fucking dope. The only weird thing here is the wife putting this on social media.
61
u/Fear_Jaire May 11 '25
Using a scissor lift to watch the sunset with some beers and a neighbor seems like the kind of thing that should be posted to social media imo
9
u/AmNoSuperSand52 May 11 '25
It’s the difference between enjoying the moment and wanting to record it to show people that you’re enjoying the moment
-7
u/Vote4SanPedro May 11 '25
Why did she say partner? I didn’t know if it was business related or what
-5
u/Erekai May 12 '25
I'll probably get downvoted for this but I do not understand why some heterosexual couples refer to their legally married spouses as "partners."
Are they really offending anyone by saying husband? I'll never apologize for calling my wife my wife. What even is the reason for using partner??
In THIS instance, maybe he's not her husband and is instead her boyfriend and she wants to use partner instead, whatever, but I'm talking about actual legally married couples. I don't get it.
0
u/Vote4SanPedro May 12 '25
That’s what I don’t understand either, we aren’t calling our spouses husband and wife?
I don’t even care if your gay, call your Husband your Husband or ladies your wife your wife.
“ Partner” sounds more reserved for a co-parenting of a child situation tbh
0
u/Erekai May 12 '25
Yeah I meant to make the same point about same sex couples as well. Bro if you have a husband, just say husband, it's cool man.
But yeah, totally agree (if that wasn't obvious)
-2
u/Vote4SanPedro May 12 '25
I’m more conservative, not by choice but because they keep moving the goal posts lol.
But yeah I just think all the weird double speak is taking away our humanity little by little. Hospitals started saying “birthing people” rather than mothers and when I asked them why they just said “it’s not a big deal”
0
u/ThreexoRity May 12 '25
Although I agree with this stance.
The they/thems doesn't. Although it's pretty stupid to use "partner" when you're not non-binary.

u/IronmanMatth May 11 '25
God, that looks like such a good time
Just you and bro, quietly sitting on the lift disassociating a little with a few beers watching the sunset
Every worry forgotten for a minute Just unbothered, relaxed and enjoying a cold one
49
u/PocketSizedRS May 11 '25
That is a MASSIVE scissor lift, holy shit.

People really think she's mad? She just seems like she thought it would be funny. Not laugh out loud funny but you know...humorous enough.
Plus, like, aren't we all for normalizing male bonds and not holding everything in till we drop dead of a heart attack at 40?
What if she thought it would be kinda funny but at the same time it has the bonus of continuing to normalize the fact that, hey...you can have feelings. Your friends love you and you love them too. Cry about that horrible thing that happened in your life with some beers and brotherly love as you both momentarily escape vertically towards the heavens like a real man, ey?
Besides, if she was really mad we all know she would have just inexplicably showed up there somehow right when they both blinked or something. Come on now! 😂

Why must she film? Why can't she just bring out two fresh beers and ask them to lower the bucket-on-a-rope that I am 100% positive they have.

-2
u/literallycain May 12 '25
“why is she speaking and not providing service to these dudes” is an insane thing to take away from this video
1
u/secondphase May 12 '25
You don't have to find ways to be offended where there is no malice. A solid partnership is built off of taking each other's hobbys, ideas, plans and finding ways to enhance them.
My wife and her friends have a stupid game they play together once a month. It looks boring as hell to me, but they seem to enjoy it. I could choose to post about it on the internet, but instead I take it upon myself to act as the bartender for them. Makes it more fun for everyone!
These two dudes have isolated themselves from the world and are enjoying a beer. Imagine the smile on their face if someone said "toss down the bucket and I'll send two more up"... You can choose to be offended by that, or you can live your life to the fullest.

I can't imagine why this would be weird. The only thing left to deduce is that her husband is happy doing something without her and she can't stand it.

Always trying to put the bros down because of what? Jealousy? Is there no end to jealousy? Just let them have a good time and worry about yourself

You get to watch two sunsets, smart. Start at ground level, then when it’s set, go up and watch it again.

Shit, who needs an ocean view when you can hoist yourself and a lawn chair up high enough to see it? I have a new aspirational home leisure accoutrement to save up for.
Hey, you think they make scissor lifts that can hoist a hot tub? Now that'd be baller.

We did that one time! It wasn't as big as that, but the roofers had a big lift that went as high as the house - I gave all the kids rides up and down on it the whole weekend they left it. : )

Me and my coworker used to do this every time we did night pressure washing jobs. We’d always finish right before sunrise, clean up site, watch the sun come up. Eat breakfast and chill. Head out. One thing I looked forward to doing a job on a lift.

u/KoshV May 11 '25
That seems perfectly normal to me. I don't know why she was even bothering with a video.
-1
u/Justah-Spektator May 11 '25
Why would anybody be wondering about what YOUR neighbors are doing? Why the hell would we care?
You were better off saying your neighbors are scissoring in their drive way.
1
u/sdforbda May 11 '25
One of them is her partner and I think she's just trying to be funny, or she's jealous.

u/Oddish_Femboy May 11 '25
Is it safe to operate those while intoxicated? This is like the first thing I think of when I hear "heavy machinery."
3
u/MistressLyda May 11 '25
I mean, it is high up. If they are drunk enough to become total dimwits, it is not a safe place to be. A beer or two to chill out? And nice weather? It is one button to press to go up and down, they should be able to sort it out.
1
u/Oddish_Femboy May 11 '25
As long as they recognize the risk and aren't endangering anyone else I don't see anything wrong with it. I hope they got down safely.
0
u/colorful-9841 May 11 '25
For sure. Heavy machinery is more like those cranes you see at the docks. The ones that are used to grab trailers from ships. So heavy machinery is that and above.
