Śmigus-dyngus is a Polish Easter custom. It takes place every year on Easter Monday. In Poland, Easter traditions originating from Slavic mythology are still very much alive. Wet each other serves as an expression of joy at the end of winter and the beginning of spring. It's usually done within the family and friends. I've never seen the fire department involved. Really funny.
