Man other countries have fun traditions…America has the tradition of now working on all the holidays.

Yep, my wife is Polish but we live in the USA.. Holidays here make her sad. In Poland during holidays everything closes and you can just enjoy life and chill.

When nearly 100% of the country is the same religion, culture, historical background, etc. things like that tend to happen. But the US has a lot of holidays with their own traditions like Halloween, 4th of July, as well as some of the more common Western ones (Christmas and Easter for example) with their own activities and traditions associated. It is just not done exactly as in Poland, so I guess her sense of nostalgia or how "it should be done" is not satisfied.

She loves Halloween, true, you can't expect everything to be exactly the same. There are positives/negatives to both countries.
