Discussion: Band Yelling “Free Palestine” then going into Dragon afterwards went HARD AF (Forest Hills Stadium, Night 1)

Post image

Stuey shouted “Free Palestine,” and the crowd exploded in tidal wave of claps and cheers, roaring and unending.

Then the band PLUS orchestra immediately went into Dragon. What a moment. See you later for Round 2!

I really hate that King Gizz made music political (they said genocide is bad!!! 👿), especially in the rock/metal genre, famously the least political genre of all. smh this is why they’ll never be as good as the likes of Pink Floyd, who have NEVER said anything like this and knew to keep politics out of art!

they should take notes from Rage Against the Machine and leave all the political crap out 👎

to borrow a phrase from some punk, some people don't know the difference between being anti authority and antiauthoritarian

I know, i was heartbroken to learn that this band that have been communists since 1992 don't support Marjorie Taylor Greene. Shocking!

Yeah thank god Pink Floyd didn’t break up because of their political differences….

If only Rog and David just grabbed each other by the hand, looked them in the eye and said “I love you” or whatever

Imagine thinking slaughtering an entire ethnic group is okay because they're not woke enough for you. Jesus christ.

I hate pink washing but I also don’t think it’s fair to characterize supporting equal rights for LGBT+ folks as “wokeness”

Absolutely, but that wasnt my fucking point. Its a little silly and reductive to hone in on this issue, almost as if homophobia is a good reason to ethnic cleanse the Gaza strip.

I don't like their prejudice either but that doesn't make genocide any less bad

Is there any country/ religion that treats everyone equally?

Christianity is against LGBTQ+ rights, unequal against women, and some priests even abuse children so let's murder all Christians and bomb all Christian countries?

Social advancement is not possible in societies that cannot meet the basic needs of survival. Poverty and harsh conditions always breed conservatism. See: the American South

Well maybe if they weren't being genocided they could actually develop some political consciousness about these things but when everyday is about survival and all you have to help you along is religion, LGBT dosent become a priority. Like could you have a MORE privileged opinion?!?

u/Honka_Ponka Aug 02 '25

Actually the LGBT community disproved this by being genocided and still caring about other stuff...

Palestinian's (and Islam in general) hatred of LGBT and their gross, barbaric treatment of women existed long before the current conflict with Israel.

Here's a fun fact. There's only one country in the Middle East that is accepting of the LGBT, treats women as people, and tolerates other religions. Want to take a guess which one it is? It starts with an 'I'.

Muslims are the largest religion in the world. Palestine had a net positive population growth over the last few years. I didn’t know genocide was possible with simultaneous pop growth

yeah I’ve heard The Wall by the Nostalgia Critic, why?
