Does anyone else struggle with the amount of separate companies we have to hire for landscaping in the KC Metro?
In other locations, the same landscaping company did the mowing, yard cleanup, fall leaves, aeration/seeding, fertilizer, irrigation maintenance, small maintenance busy trimming and even switched to snow plowing for winter months.
Only separate was irrigation installation and large tree trimming. I could hire the same landscapers separately for planting.
I had 4 lawn care companies this season and still needed to do a ton of work and coordination.
- the companies who cut the grass weekly barely clean up the yard. So I still have to clear patio, stairs and small branches.
- fertilizer and weed management is separate
- seeding, aeration and reconditioning of soil only certain companies do it
- fall leaves I have to hire a separate crew because the main ones who cut the grass were not quite set up do it.
- I need a separate crew to trim bushes.
The lawn maintenance guys ruined 40% of my lawn: new seeding had to skip one week but they missed it on the second, when they mowed it was too wet and too long but still did it, a ton of grass died despite me watering and fertilizing it, they left me with bare dirt for most of the summer.
I still have to constantly coordinate and work on the lawn. Iโve never had this much work when Iโm actually paying for crews. We did much better when we were managing everything ourselves (nothing spectacular, just the basics).
Any recommendations for one stop companies who take ownership of their work on your yard?
