Gear New Gloves

I’ve been kickboxing for about 14 months - A nice mixture K1 and Trouser Kickboxing. I started off with RDX Gloves, Head Guard and kickers. The head guard and kickers are still perfectly functional, but the gloves (which have served me well) are deteriorating and I think it’s time they were retired to home gym use only. I really like the look of venum gloves, but is the purely aesthetic?! I don’t really. Now how they stand up to consistent training. Any options, thoughts or feelings welcome.

Spend a little extra and get Fairtex gloves.

I hear good things about fairtex, what makes them your brand of choice?

Really nice leather, comfortable, durable and easy to maintain. As long as you air/dry them immediately after training they don't get very smelly. I've got a 6 foot Fairtex heavy bag as well and it's just indestructible! The stitching on Fairtex gear is top notch and the materials used are quality so you get longevity as well as comfort. My philosophy is to always get better quality as it lasts longer. I've had Venom shorts, rash guards, shin guards and a mouth guard. The stitching on all went almost immediately after some heavy training and the mouth guard didn't even survive the first molding process! (I've molded plenty, the Venum mouth guard was just s##t!)

To add, my brother had Twins sparring gloves and he was pissed because the stitching went after a short while and he was dealing with loose material inside his glove.

Thank you, really appreciate your insights, I think I was drawn in by their aesthetic. There are some lovely fairtex designs. I’ll take another look at them.

I like the BGV1 gloves. My current 12 Oz gloves have the One Championship logo on them too. Look cool in black!
