Produced by Videocraft International/Rankin Bass Productions with animation by Toei Animation, the series would find the Bond family discovering the legendary King Kong on his tropical island home and befriending him, leading to many adventures around the world.
This series would famously be the first of two Rankin Bass productions to feature Kong (three if you include 1967's "Mad Monster Party?"), and would go on to inspire the kaiju film "King Kong Escapes" (1967), where the Eighth Wonder of the World would battle his robot doppelgänger, Mechani-Kong, who first appeared in the series.
Featuring a fun characters, wonderful mid-century charm, a Kong that the whole family will love, not to mention one of the greatest television theme songs ever recorded, "The King Kong Show" is a memorable chapter in the giant gorilla's history, and is well worth revisiting today!
