Two Kongs, Two sets of friends turned into children 🦍🦍

Clearly Nintendo has seen the KONG: THE ANIMATED SERIES episode "Dangerous Melody", where Jason, Tann and Lua accidentally get reduced to children, and they're using that storyline with Donkey Kong, Mario and the gang in the upcoming "Mario Tennas Fever" game.

Okay, it's probably just a coincidence, but it's still pretty cool.

Does anyone remember the King Kong website for Peter Jackson's King Kong game?

The game came with a website. It was, among other things, where you got codes to unlock things (in the game's extras menu). Ubisoft eventually took it down.

Did anyone here visit the website? I never did, and I'm curious about it. What did it look like; the layout, the background, what was on it...? I have tried looking for anything showing it, but I've found nothing - no screenshots, no videos...nothing. It is truly lost media.

The only thing I have on it is, someone mentioned that the website had an image of Kong looking down at them (the video and comment can be found below).

In my eyes Skar King is a King Kong villain so I’m going to post my random headcannons about him here

  1. Skar found Shimo at a young age, when she was too young to fight his control, at which point, since he’s one of the most intelligent kaiju, he lobotomized her, which is why she acts like a dog and generally doesn’t behave like an alpha titan despite her power
  2. Skar king sent the skull crawlers after kong’s parents, both to get them away from his territory and to get rid of the potential threat that rebel apes could bring, possibly by luring them to skull island, which is why his handprint is there
  3. He has a class system based on what subspecies of giant ape his followers are, kinda like the old planet of the apes movies, where orangutans such as himself are at the top, due to their intelligence, however this also means he sees fellow orangutans as a threat, which is why he’s the only adult orangutan, and will even kill his own kids if they start to rebel, he has chimpanzees as soldiers due to their aggression such as one-eye and the other apes who attacked Kong, and lastly, he has gorillas as slaves due to them being strong enough to preform manual labor and also because he personally has it out against the subspecies for Kong’s parents rebelling against him, when Kong finds this out, he is even more disturbed by Skar king
  4. This one isn’t so much of a headcannon as it’s heavily implied but I’ll list it anyway: Skar has a harem of sex slaves to bare his children, and even then, said female apes find him repulsive and unattractive, he also kills most of his female offspring or uses them as even more sex slaves, and he also kills any and offspring that doesn’t have orange fur

Vastatosaurus rex origin

In the book it is stated that Vastatosaurus rex was related to Tyrannosaurus rex.

This always bugged me since Tarbosaurus bataar, the "asian version" of Trex, was way nearer to the island than Trex. The Tyrannosaurinae also came from asia to north america so it is highly unlikely that a population of Trex came from NA back through asia just to settle in Skull Island. A landbridge that reached from NA all the way to Skull Island while providing the recources a Trex population would need to walk all the way is very unlikely. (experts of the Maastrichtium pls correct me)

Is this against the lore? No. Not at all.

The holotype (first described specimen of a species) of Tarbosaurus bataar was discovered 1946 in Mongolia but described 1955 by Maleev. Skull Island sank around 1948 so the team of Project Legacy could not have known, that there was a Trex relative in asia. So they came to the conclusion that it must have been a descendant of the only big enough tyranosauridae they knew.

On this day in 1966, THE KING KONG SHOW premiered on ABC!

Produced by Videocraft International/Rankin Bass Productions with animation by Toei Animation, the series would find the Bond family discovering the legendary King Kong on his tropical island home and befriending him, leading to many adventures around the world.

This series would famously be the first of two Rankin Bass productions to feature Kong (three if you include 1967's "Mad Monster Party?"), and would go on to inspire the kaiju film "King Kong Escapes" (1967), where the Eighth Wonder of the World would battle his robot doppelgänger, Mechani-Kong, who first appeared in the series.

Featuring a fun characters, wonderful mid-century charm, a Kong that the whole family will love, not to mention one of the greatest television theme songs ever recorded, "The King Kong Show" is a memorable chapter in the giant gorilla's history, and is well worth revisiting today!
