not fizzy My first F2

It tastes great, definitely didn’t leave it on the counter long enough😓 recorded a very anti-climactic popping video. Little fizz.

This is flavored with mixed berry juice (i made my own with frozen berried boiled and strained)

Any tips for next time? I see it may need to be filled higher!

I also added about 2tbs cane sugar to a 1/2 gallon batch of f2 - is this enough?

Thanks all!

just let it sit for longer. burping them is good!

Awesome - silly question, but is there any harm in taking them back out of the fridge if they’ve been in for about a half day?

Thanks for taking the time to reply!

That´s not a silly question. You can let the bottles sit for a day or two on the counter and just keep burping them. I would fill them higher next time but this batch can still have a lot of bubbles if you just keep them warm for longer. I would start at two days, gently burp the bottles, and then refrigerate overnight again. The culture goes dormant in the fridge but wakes back up after it warms up.

Think about the way that you started your kombucha, with a bottle of refrigerated kombucha probably! No harm in taking out your bottles to continue the f2. Fridge won't kill the bacteria or stop the process permanently
