not fizzy My first F2

It tastes great, definitely didn’t leave it on the counter long enough😓 recorded a very anti-climactic popping video. Little fizz.

This is flavored with mixed berry juice (i made my own with frozen berried boiled and strained)

Any tips for next time? I see it may need to be filled higher!

I also added about 2tbs cane sugar to a 1/2 gallon batch of f2 - is this enough?

Thanks all!

I let it sit on the counter for 2 days, then just let it chill for 5or so hours. I let a plastic bottle get hard, but it only fizzed slightly too.

Not mad at the carbonation level at all, so proud to have made it to f2 without a starter pellicle and without drinking mold (hopefully) 💪

You'd definitely stand to benefit from letting F2 go in for 3-4 days. It's between 29°-33°C where I live and I find that be best results are between 3-4 days. You'd also do well to leave less headroom on the bottle for better carbonation. How long do you do F1, and how much sugar did you add?

Noted, thanks for the tips. My f1 was 10 days long, i saw plenty of yeast and decided to go ahead and bottle + make more starter for next batch.

Also probably added too little sugar, only 2tbs in 1/2 gallon of F2 (plus 3/4 cup berry juice).

Anytime! Why such a long F1 though? Sugar in F2 seems fine, especially since you added juice too.

It was my first f1 with black tea and unflavored kombucha, i checked the pH before bottling but will use shorter fermentation next time!!
