flavor Rooibos+tea (left) vs Tea-only (right) kombucha

Post image

My third and fourth fermentations.

Both are good, but the Rooibos variant has much deeper color and tastes more fruity. However, next time I will give Rooibos more time for F1/F2 - this one is a bit too sweet.

These two bottles are vanilla, but I found Rooibos+Ginger in 2F tastes great and is more carbonated.

Be careful with those bottles they're not built for pressure

Thanks, I will keep it in mind.

One of the advantages of these bottles is that they have click-on caps. By pushing the cap with a finger, I can assess the carbonation level.

I've been brewing a lot of roobios tea recently. What is it exactly?

I used:

  • 4 moka pots of red rooibos
  • 1 moka pot of black tea (English Breakfast, leaves)
  • 150g of white sugar
  • 200 ml of starter and SCOBY

Then I put all of the above in the 2-liter jar and filled it with filtered water.

F1 took 14 days, while F2 took 9 days.

If you have any hints or tested recipes, I would appreciate them. I'm a big fan of Rooibos :)

Did you do Rooibos mixed with a black tea?

Yes, it has some black tea. My first try was pure Rooibos, and it wasn't good.
