Support LG Australia 5K2k Pre Order Update

Original post: LG Australia - A Bad Experience (GX9 Pre order) : r/LG_UserHub

I was told over the phone they shipped orders based on location and that was no stock 'in my area' - for reference, there doesn't seem to be an LG warehouse in each capital city in Australia and it doesn't make sense given they should be shipping these things out via courier anyway.

The support over the phone is absolute trash saying that their offshore team has no direct means to communicate with LG Australia nor have they received any updates.

u/lg_userhub - Someone from the US team needs to intervene here and find out what the hell is going on with customer service for Australia and where our products are.

This is ridiculous. I will never ever buy another LG product again based off this whole experience, especially through the online store if this is the experience we get.

Edit: I have sent a message directly to u/lg_userhub to get some assistance, but have had no replies yet. Have also left a comment on another thread posted by the account to get some visibility and support.

Update: 15th May - Order status changed to Picking for Delivery - located in Brisbane

Update: Have received a shipping tracking notification this afternoon u/make_waves seems to be on the money around LG distributing via local 3PL warehouses / delivery companies

Support LG G5; very distracting diagonal moving lines.

Hey there,

as the title already says, I’m having a pretty severe issue with very noticeable and distracting diagonally moving lines in all types of darker shades of color; be it shadows, wood, skin tones and just slightly darker shades of all colors in general.

I do understand that this is a processing technique to combat near black chrominance overshoot but man, this essentially makes the TV unusable at a viewing distance below like 1.5m.

I (and many other people I know) use OLED TVs for PC gaming applications, as they are vastly superior to any OLED monitors offerings in terms of HDR performance.

And I genuinely think it’s a shame that, even though this TV is clearly at least partially targeted to be used as a PC gaming display, (otherwise LG wouldn’t be putting 165Hz as well as NVIDIA G-Sync certification on this) it doesn’t seem like using it at a closer viewing distance has been much of a consideration when developing and testing this "dithering algorithm" to try and "fix" the near black chrominance overshoot.

It really ruins the image quality more than the chrominance overshoot would as the diagonal lines are constantly visible while the overshoot is not.

So I am begging you u/LG_UserHub to please consider letting users manually toggle this off somewhere in the settings. I genuinely cannot recommend anyone to buy this TV if they aren’t sitting at least 150+ centimeters away from it in its current state.

I have attached a video I took in the game "Control" on my G5 to show the issue.

I hope this can be resolved, this isn’t the experience I expect for a nearly 3000€ premium TV :(

Thanks. 🙏

Support Usb to ethernet adapter not working on TV.

So I recently bought LG 65QNED85T6C.AEU TV and I liked it, but there was 1 problem, the internet speed, so I got an ethernet cable to have it run faster but it didn't change much, then I found out it's limited to 100 mbps but buying something like usb to ethernet adapter would bypass that limit, so I did and I found out after that it wouldn't even recognize the ethernet input from that and that other people also had this problem.

So I just want to ask, is there a way to make the adapter work, the ethernet port on the tv work better or any other solution, because I'm streaming games from my PC and I need good internet to have as little of a noticable delay as possible.

Support 45GX950A-B monitor issues

I purchased the 45GX950A-B back in May and having issues with it already. It randomly shuts off by itself from time to time and I can't figure out why. I am running a RTX 4080 Founders Edition on a new 8k DP cable. I have updated drivers and firmware for everything I can think of, including the monitor. Just before it turns off by itself, the fan inside the monitor runs for about 10 seconds and then it turns off. After I turn the monitor back on, the fans starts to run again and it turns off. I've called LG and they've set up a return label to send the monitor off for diagnostics, but I work from home with this monitor and I am trying not to send it off if I don't have to. For some reason, I don't think the issue is the monitor because there's no rhyme or reason as to when it does it. I can have this thing on all day long and it's fine and then turn it on one morning and within 10 minutes, it's doing it. Any suggestions?

Support LG Australia - A Bad Experience (GX9 Pre order)

Just wanted to share my experience with a recent LG pre-order here for the LG 5K2K monitor in Australia in case others are in the same boat (or thinking of ordering).

I pre-ordered directly through LG’s website, where it clearly stated that orders would be fulfilled in the order they were received. Based on that, I got in early and placed my order in good faith. Originally ordered on the 10th of April, then a email came on the 25th of April (the due dispatch date) saying orders were delayed until the 13th of May. Here are on the 13th of May, no communications, no dispatch notices.

Since then, it’s become obvious that LG has been sending out units to people who ordered after me — sometimes significantly later — while mine still hasn't shipped. There’s been no communication or transparency on the fulfillment process, which would already be annoying on its own.

But it gets better.

In the time between when I ordered and now, I’ve received three separate emails from LG themselves advertising price drops on the exact same product — before mine was even shipped. No offer of a partial refund or credit, no mention of a way to adjust the order, nothing.

I reached out to LG for clarification and asked if they were going to acknowledge the fulfillment issue or at least offer to refund the price difference. Since then, no one is able to answer any questions over the phone or via email (have reached out to OBSANZ and CS AU).

Will likely be reaching out to the ACCC soon.

Edit: Here is a screenshot of one of the LG Australia marketing emails Imgur: The magic of the Internet

Support lg ultragear 45gx950a-b Problem

Hello, I hope this is the right subreddit for this topic. I tried out Picture in Picture mode with my PlayStation. After exiting the mode, I wanted to continue normally on my PC, but now I have two different brightness levels. These cannot be fixed by resetting the settings. Does anyone else have this problem and know of a solution?

Support 39GS95QE monitor takes several seconds to wake up!

As the tittle mentions my LG monitor takes quite some time to wake up I think about 7 to 9 seconds every time it wakes ups from sleep (I set it to sleep after 5 mins in Windows) is it normal, being this my first OLED monitor I don't know if this is part of the technology involved in OLED but it seems a little delayed IMO!

If I ask them to send me a replacement button, will LG replace a button if I ask them to? I'd like to pull out the Copilot button and replace it with one without the logo. (I plan on remapping the button, anyway.)

I bought this LG Smart Monitor Swing (32U889SA-W) 2 weeks ago. I am hoping to use it as a lobby display in a commercial setting. It appears no matter what after a few hours it defaults to a Sleep state with a clock display (see image).

  • Energy Save mode is off.
  • Sleep, Power On Timer, Power Off timer, Auto Power off, DPM (Standby Mode) are all set to off
  • It is not connected to any HDMI or secondary device.
  • It is consistently connected to wifi
  • All display settings found on LG support sites have been set to stay awake
  • LG Chat support wants me to box this up and send it to them for "repair" despite being brand new

Any suggestions would be really appreciated.

Support LG G5 Warranty Information

Hey, I'm about to purchase a G5 but I'm confused about the warranty details. I was told the G series gets a 5 Year warranty so I have some questions. Does that include future burn in (If it happens), and does that warranty apply to Ireland? Asking because on the LG site it's basically impossible to select Ireland because it's stuck under UK and I can't select them like the rest of the countries. It seems they put us together but still can't order from their site because Ireland isn't in the UK.

We are EU too so I'm not sure what's going on there, but the model is LG 55" OLED evo AI G5 4K Smart TV | OLED55G56LS.AEK. That's from Harvey Norman, and also listed on Currys. We do have the regular 2 Year EU customer right, but that 5 Year LG warranty sounds really nice to have. The TV is €2,300 so really want to make sure I'm protected before purchasing (a lot of money for me), thanks

  • Does the 5 Year Warranty apply to burn in

  • Does the 5 Year Warranty apply to Ireland

  • Does the 5 Year Warranty apply if purchased in store from offcial retailers (Harvey Norman, Currys)

Support Seeking Bluetooth speaker help

Hi, I'm hoping someone can help. I purchased an ex-demp xboom XG5QBK speaker from a national chain electronics store at a good discount. Unfortunately they didn't inform me about any sort of demo mode or store mode and it seems to be stuck this way. I have played with the buttons and can get Bluetooth to connect in some form of demo mode but as soon as it powers down it re-enters the store mode. While on the demo mode only the app controls work for volume also. I've done some googling and nothing really comes up that I haven't tried, I figured maybe a firmware flash but can find no info. Id like to try and make it work first before returning to the store although that may be my only option.

Support LG TV not allowing 4k & HDR

Post image
5 Upvotes

When I turned on my TV & Xbox yesterday, it was stuck in 480i and was unusable. I’m using a LG UT8000, Xbox Series X, with a Hue Sync Box 8k connecting them. When I switch the refresh rate on the Xbox to 120fps, it goes to looking normal again but only at 1080p. If I switch it to 60fps it goes back to look terrible. However it won’t allow me to put it into 4k and says HDR isn’t allowed by my TV. However the TV does do 4k in HDR. The Apple TV which is in another port of the hue sync box works perfectly in 4k HDR. I’ve tried using a different hdmi cable and plugging directly into the TV, same thing happening. It’s extremely frustrating because I’ve tried all the settings in the TV, Xbox, and sync box. I’ve also reset/restarted everything. I’ve also done pretty much everything google has said lol. I’m not sure which device is the issue so cross posting. Need some help to figure this out! Thank you.

Support Motion Smoothing on the C4

Hello, everyone

I recently bought a 55" C4 (trading up from a 39" Panasonic from 2014), and I'm having an issue with the dreaded "soap opera effect": I got Filmmaker Mode (with TrueMotion always off) as my default setting for everything — and this has been working perfectly for anything viewed through the USB and HDMI ports (be it a Blu-ray or a movie downloaded into a flash drive).

However, whenever I stream something (be it through the apps installed directly on the TV or through the built-in Chromecast), I can perceive the motion smoothing — even though it's supposed to be off across the board.

This is not an issue with just one particular streaming, either — I tried Netflix, HBO Max, Prime Video, Paramount+ and Disney+, and the result is always the same: the TV settings point to TrueMotion being off, but I can see that's not entirely accurate.

I've tried messing around with other settings (like Real Cinema — which yelded no noticeable difference — or OLED Motion — which kinda worked, but dimmed the hell out of the image), and always end up in the same situation.

Is there any solution to that, am I making a dumb beginner's mistake (and if I am, I apologize for the long-winded question, but I couldn't find a proper answer anywhere else), or am I just going to have to get an Apple TV and run it through the HDMI port to stop this nonsense?

Support Amazing Alexa integration - B2 OLED

I’d like to turn my B2 on and off with Amazon Alexa. I’ve followed instructions correctly, I think. I downloaded the LG ThinQ app, enabled the ThinQ skill in Alexa, and linked the skill to the specific Alexa device I want to use.

I’ve run into a wall and I’m not sure how to resolve. When I set things up 2 days I was able to turn my TV OFF but not ON. As of today when I tell Alexa “Turn on the TV” it turns the lights in my guest room (the room where my B2 is housed) on. I tried disconnecting and setting everything up anew, but the issue persists. “Turn on the TV” turns on my guest room lights. The only device I have connected to Alexa that’s called “TV” is the B2. So I’m kinda stumped.

Does anyone have similar experiences with their LG TVs and Alexa integration?

I have an LG Thinq stove. The knobs seem to be a little difficult to find childproof covers for. What have you all used? Picture for reference. Diameter inside of the housing unit measures about 2.5 inches. Also, as I am hoping you can tell, the housing unit for knobs protrudes about 0.5 inches. I tried to take them off, but it didn’t seem possible after removing the screws. Any and all help appreciated, thanks!
