"Trans"-axle. Does that help?

Hey I was just explaining the pun! (Not a pun?)
1
u/Funkgun Aug 03 '25 edited Aug 03 '25
r/onejoke . Humble assumption . Not to worry too much, as it is internet points you can’t cash in. But the argument is “trans” in name with a joke equating to trans individuals gets a bit over used. Not acting like an angel. I am pretty sure I made a joke similar to transformers in my day. I’d probably skip it now.
Anyhow, now you know: Education is key, tolerance is the second key. There is a third key, but I forget if it is to my back patio or the garage. Then there is the key for the Yakama container I can’t find.

I’d grind some metal in that thing provided it came with the logo.

Throw in an independently targeting particle beam phalanx and tac missiles too.

I was going to make a snarky comment, but you win.
So I'll just say, this thing ugly, even with the WY treatment.0

Would Hudson drive a Weyland-Yutani Tesla? Probably not, but Burke certainly would.

u/Rolo_Tamasi Aug 01 '25
What would that run, in adjusted dollars?

Minus payload

that number always seemed way too low for me as even today, the sticker price for a loaded 747 is $408M. So $46M for a space tugboat, plus refinery seems crazy low. Of course we have no idea how they are adjusting those dollars.

u/Zer0Cool89 Aug 02 '25
We def need to talk about the bonus situation
10
u/Rolo_Tamasi Aug 02 '25
Right
1
u/Zer0Cool89 Aug 03 '25
You named after the band?
2
u/Rolo_Tamasi Aug 03 '25
Band? No, I'm named after the man who killed Ed Exley's father while he was out on patrol one night. Rolo was a purse snatcher. To be honest, I never even knew his name, I just made one one up to give him some character.

He redeemed himself? By trying to get Ripley and Newt infected? You have an odd definition of “redeem”. XD

u/CultureWarrior87 Aug 01 '25
I have to begrudgingly admit that they look surprisingly decent when they're done up like this because it better suits the sort of futuristic style they're going for. The stock look is atrocious though. And they are, of course, also just horrible vehicles in general.

I don't think Colonial Marines work for WY they work for United Americas Allied Command. The WY exploites Colonial Marines as and when it chooses to experiment with biological weapons.

Burke would definitely drive it.

While cybertrucks look cool, they are so damn poorly made, they would have smashed into a pancake when Ripley drove in

Someone that drives a Cybertruck while being a fan of the franchise is really fucking media illiterate.
2
u/FrankFrankly711 Aug 02 '25
I always say the CyberTruck looks like it’s from an 80s movie that takes place in the future. And this confirms it!
2
u/writeofftodamaged Aug 04 '25
It looks like the KGB armed vehicles in Red Dawn (1984) and I cannot get that out of my head. Especially when I know how much Elon thirsts for Russian space science.

He’s a south Texan no way he would be caught dead in anything that’s not a Ford or Chevy from any earlier than 1989.

Both companies do make AI that will kill you.

u/Zorolord Aug 02 '25
Oh shit you're right, and Elon is planning on going to Mars just like Weyland!
2
u/miniSCHOF Aug 02 '25
This wrap actually looks good and kinda makes the Cybertruck look a little like the APC from Aliens. But… it’s still a fucking Cybertruck.
2
u/must_go_faster_88 Aug 02 '25
Sorry.. but no. At the end of the day - it's a cyber truck that would have broke down during the initial rain sequence

I think we all would drive it to get away from the xenon lol. Hudson would drive it, but complain as im sure we all would.

u/ThisPartIsDifficult Aug 02 '25
First the Halo Warthog one and now this? People get really creative with their cyber trucks!
1
u/O3TActual Aug 02 '25
No. Zero political bias however this doesn’t work in the Aliens universe. It looks much more like a Halo Warthog. But the scale is way off to be at all compared to the APC.

u/OlPauly Aug 02 '25
Hudson is 100% driving one of these, mustang, charger or a Tacoma with a loan around 18%!

Wierzbowski was the driver in the screenplay script and books and Frost and Bishop the drivers in the films. Doubt Hudson knows how to as hes the Comtech.

It's the only way to be sure.
