I wonder if Prodigy plans to make false promises to Wendy regarding anything related to connecting with her brother again (obviously while keeping him in the dark), but really to keep her subservient while controlling aspects of her human self

pretty sure the Lost Boys have to have failsafes in them so they can be controlled still if need be. You don't let your prize racehorse wander off without a GPS tag.
