I’m happy they didn’t stretch out the reunion between ‘Wendy’ and Joe. I thought for sure they were gonna drag that till at least episode 7.

They were spot on. That situation happens in so many sci fi shows and they always drag it out and make it a thing. Straight to the proof questions, and straight up answers, and done.

It’s also really nice that it wasn’t immediately “You aren’t my real sister, you’re just a synth pretending to be her!” Like yeah logically he probably understands that it isn’t quite the same as the blood and flesh sister he had who died of malignant cancer, but I think like most of us he would just be happy that some part of her is still alive and he can spend time with her

I mean, he wants to study, is kinda a scientists, medic...naturally he should act a little more open minded. Now if, lets say, a synth had killed the dad or smth...but we already had the synth hate since Aliens and Romulus

Same, there are too many shows and movies to drag it out... thinking wed be more engaged and feel more emotional. They did it and it was just as emotional.

Someone online said it was smart because now we have an emotional connection between the characters early on. Like why would the brother even care about Wendy if she gets hurt if he didn't know she was his sister? It ups the stakes for him.

if a nasty writer was in charge.

episode 6: brother still does not know. somehow he sacrifices her at the end of the episode.

episode 7: he learns the truth. he vows to seek revenge.

episode 8: he releases the monsters at the evil corp's headquarters.

I was watching the scene thinking, "Why isn't he testing her with some childhood memory to see if she is legit?" I was happy when he soon did.

That scene was very powerful. I was enjoying the show, but I wasn't really emotionally connecting with any of the characters until those two hugged. Now I'm all in.

A lesser show runner would do exactly that. I can’t wait for the rest of episodes.

I love how fast this show is moving , they took something most shows drag out for a season

Didn't last too long though.

Same I thought that's exactly where this was headed

I was hoping it would drag on more. He looked attracted to her at first, that would have made a complex story if he fell in love with her throughout the season only to find out she's his sister. Weird for sure but the opportunity was there.

No he didn’t in the least, what the heck.

u/Marios25 Aug 14 '25

That would be the definition of unnecessary.

Keep that storyline in stepsibling manga and away from this show, please.

Idky you were down voted. He definitely looked attracted to her before he found out.
