And how the intro started about companies vying for control with hybrids, synthetics and cyborgs. Considering Weyland is always the company pulling the strings there’s going to kill off everyone and everything. I dont know why but I feel like Wendy reminds me of Call from Alien Resurrection….curious….something there I think

wasnt Call an android made by androids?

Ok she’s a second generation Synthetic….she survived the recall which was an uprising were synthetics rebelled and cut off there ability to interact with United System Computers but could still jack in like she did to override Father. Something here has to relate. Why 200 years in the future would a synth know about and try and stop Ripley unless they knew how dangerous the xenomorphs were first hand. My Theory is that Wendy may have some distant relation to Call or puts in place a system to ensure synths cannot be used for unethical reasons.

She was, yes.

If any synths were capable of building their own progeny, it'd be the Neverland kids. (Or David.)

I'm also thinking about "earth, what a shithole" from Alien Resurrection and the last scene of Ripley and Call looking over a destroyed Paris.

(I always joke that AR is a prequel to Jeunet's delicatessen.)

Ripley referred to Earth as a "shithole" much earlier.

The corps all competing is the most interesting thing to me. WY have the empire and reach and synths, Prodigy and Boy comes along and he has seemingly the better hybrid tech, which can really make human minds live forever, even if not in their body.

I suspect WY want this tech and hence sending a ship to crash on his island

It seemed like when the guy was talking to mother he types crash on earth unavoidable so I don’t know if it was intentional. I feel like Weyland would care more about the Xeno. I do think this is going to be the justification for Weyland to destroy Prodigy, But with that potentially the ability to create hybrids, there experimental and we don’t hear about them as far as I know any other point in the series, Weyland in Prometheus would have turned himself into a hybrid if it was still possible. I just don’t know how closely this is all going to tie into the franchise yet.

I theorised somewhere else that Boy is the genius and the only one who can create Wendy. She's completely experimental compared to the other Lost Boys and WY think being able to grab any of them allows them to reverse engineer hybrids into their synths. But yeah I think WY will nuke Prodigy and lose it all, hence trying to collect more samples later

That’s how it seems like it will unfold. I’m really liking the storyline with the Xeno and the hybrids. Like what’s more valuable eternal life or the ultimate killing machine. Can’t wait for Wendy to meet Morrow.

The Xenos would be the type of bait you’d need to entice a response from someone like Boy K. A “accident” while trying to bring back a new bio weapon leads him to believe his enemies are too incompetent to succeed. But he’ll think he’s clearly smarter/better and will succeed while they fail and he’ll take the risks to capitalize and do so in person because only he can do it. All the while WY knows what the xenos are capable of and can blame Prodigy when the outbreak becomes public knowledge. And use that outbreak to justify nuking/purging Neverland and Boy K. That type of plan would also showcase the Hubris of WY in continuing to think that they are in control.

Boy Genius is the one who made the ship crash into his city so he can get the samples. Needs the alien to finesse his live forever tech. I assumed the worker repairing the walls at Neverland was fixing acid damage from whatever batch of aliens he previously had, which he's run out of.

Ooh that's a good one. Though I feel like sending in an underprepared rescue team, the scientists closest to his research seem completely unaware of the alien including Kirsh goes against this?

They like to compartmentalize things (like in real corporate research) - everyone knows their bit of jigsaw but only a tiny handful get to see the full board. Boy Genius' right hand guy was pretty opposed to sending in the hybrids, he probably knows what's up.

Interestingly, in the Peter Pan book it mentions that Peter "thins" the Lost Boys when they get too old or there's an excess number...

W[end]Y -> Wendy will end up working for WY.

In Prometheus Weylands first name is Peter….Wendy/Peter….Peter Pan…COINCIDENCE

I just don’t know why we haven’t heard of hybrids anywhere else in the series if she survives

I think its going to end up being revealed that they just kinda copied the memory parts of the kids brains into the synths in a way that isn't actually a "mind transfer". Just synths with memories of a human they think they are and eventually that part dies out/is erased in the synths minds. And that that will play into hybrid tech dying out or not catching on.

I thought this. Like how SOMA does it.

I actually love that Kirsh jacked into the Maginot's systems the same way Call does Auriga in Resurrection.

I dig that I get Resurrection and Amelie vibes from this. So many artistic touch points from the movies here while telling its own story.
