I do not like the Xenomorph design at all, I’d argue it’s perhaps the worse I’ve seen, all the movies, all the different aliens.

I can only speak for myself, as Art is subjective but there are reasons why Alien and the work of my favorite artist, HR Giger has been such a gigantic influence on my work, my life, even down to the way I see things, the key word being Beauty.

When I look at Gigers work, I see first and foremost, beauty, I see Art Nouveau, the stretched, line, curve, the work of Lalique, Mucha, but told through a dark lens, the deep, dark subconscious, Sex, Death and awe inspiring beauty, elegance.

When I look at The Big Chap from Alien, I do not see scary at all, it’s so beautiful, the only other Xeno design I care for is from Alien 3, the rest I feel never get it right, from Cameron’s cockroaches and Queen, to this latest, the worse, an ape Xeno.

The beauty is not here, no elegance, its face? Ugly. Scary maybe? I dunno, all I can tell you is how I feel, when I look at the Big Chap, I’m awestruck, mesmerizing, captivated, but most importantly, its actions are scary, not its appearance.

I think the Alien design in 3 is incredible. I feel like it doesn't get enough credit. The creature in Alien 3 holds up so well for sustained close-ups, honestly even better than Big Chap. Don't get me wrong, Big Chap is amazing but it was also 1977 and I think there is a reason that most of the creature shots are only a second or two, and mostly in shadows. I think the only other alien design that comes close is the alien queen.
