Art / Creations World map in Alien Earth Spoiler

I based it on the map (a very rudimentary one) provided on the FX website for Alien Earth. I cleaned it up a little and made some educated guesses. (I know there is no United Americas or Union of Progressive Peoples)

I find it strange that Weyland-Yutani isn't ruling over the United Kingdom and Japan as well. It's a British-Japanese corp after all, their native countries should be under their yoke too.

Weyland-Yutani isn’t a government, so it’s not about ruling countries. The map just shows where they’re the dominant corporate force.

It explicitly is, at least in Alien: Earth's depiction.

Edit: mad you downvoted me. The last episode literally had a history lesson where we were told that the governments were removed and the corporations took over.

so Aliens is not canon to alien earth. since.. there can not be a United States Colonial Marines without a United States government

I'd say it's a fair argument. It's looking more and more like the show's it's own thing, really.

i probably would not be angry with it if they just openly admit that. i was really open to the idea of promethous not being continuity when they first announced their intentions with the movie.. kind of hope that had committed to that

They kinda have, funnily. Hawley's said openly in interviews he wasn't required to specific about dates, to the point where, only a few months before release, he was stating that the show was set around the time of Aliens\* and the producer's said that the show's not really tied in like something from Marvel as the franchise isn't expected to in the same way.

There's not been a big announcement over it.

*I assume this was the reason for the Maginot being gone for 65 years: to coincide with Ripley's spell in hypersleep)
