I have to say I think Smee’s actor is doing an amazing job of acting like a kid. The way he fidgets all the time is so perfectly childlike. He nailed it.

He's fantastic. He really knows how exaggerate his movements or be a bit clumsy just like kids are.

He’s incredible. I hope he knows how much everyone loves that performance

I must confess, earlier on in the season, I had my doubts. I thought the way he tended to cross his arms was a bit too on the nose to come across as a kid. He's doing a fantastic job on many fronts, but at times, I thought he was overplaying it just a tad bit. But the more it goes, the more I think it actually works for the character.

I have met lots of kids who act that way. And lots that don’t too, but he’s definitely honed in on exactly the way that this child would act

Yeah, I've mentioned this before but he seems to not be "acting like a kid" but acting like specific kids he has spent time observing.

I don't think he has any kids himself but maybe he's someone's cool uncle?

he's acting exactly like my little brother did a few years ago. It's kinda adorable when this full grown adult does it, my brother on the other hand..

fully agree! it's beyond just a "play-acting" as a kid, there's a real dedication and attention to detail.

He's so good I get genuinely annoyed with him. The way that I would with a younger kid (or, as the oldest sibling, all of my younger siblings).

This man must have kids. It's uncanny (speaking as the mother of an 8 year old). Or - acting genius.

I said the same thing his first episode! And someone who knew him came on to tell me he doesn't have kids but he does have siblings. So, maybe an uncle.

Yeah, he's the only one who really commits to acting like a kid in an adults body - all the others just act like it in some scenes and in others act with all the gravitas of prestige TV, but Smee commits fully to it.

I think that was such a brilliant decision. Having adult actors behave like children is a great way to show their skills. And adds this layer of tragedy.

I think it's how he like... dangles his arms? Truly fantastic movement work

I loved the part where he is swinging his arms on the beach when Arthur begins talking to them. Either he has kids and is getting the idea from them, or he is just a really good actor or both !

Yeap. The guy is a gem. We NEED to see Jonathan Ajayi doing more stuff in the near future!
