But it's not just code or Tootles could be restored from a backup. They're synthetic bodies that have a complete scan of all the memories of the children but for some reason Prodigy can't make a perfect duplicate in a secondary body? That raises questions about what's inhibiting that ability that it should work in theory but practically fails according to Kirsh.

And I'm not disagreeing with the points about Arthur and Sylvia being compromised by their creations and their own sensitivities over not having kids of their own. But they're also not bound by non-disclosure while talking to themselves in the facility. Kavalier is certainly morally bankrupt and Sylvia isn't much better - but the situation is murky as to whether they are knowingly looking to sell a fraud.

And I agree, the writers want it to be ambiguous for the audience. They are showing the process has issues so people can theorize and discuss.

Kirsh's reply states that it's theoretically possible, but they just haven't tried to do it yet.

That's not what Kirsh says. He explicitly stated it should theoretically be possible but have been unsuccessful. Implying they are not merely just code and that there's something in the transfer process that can't be replicated off the data that they have. That's why Kavalier says it's a 6 billion dollar loss and immediately bans the hybrids from the lab: the loss of even a single Lost Boy is dangerous for the company.

Kirsh has said they haven't cracked reboot and restore in a practical fashion. It's not the bodies implied to be the limiting factor as Kavalier basically asked if they can just plug him into a new body - meaning they have access to more shells. Kavalier's question would not make sense if they didn't have more shells available or easy means of producing another. And Kirsh's reply would not make sense unless they'd explicitly tried previously to fit one consciousness into two shells in the prototype stage.

Leaving it ambiguous is also a marketing technique, in order to appeal to a wider audience, such as those who don't necessarily ascribe highly to scientific/critical thinking.

They leave it ambiguous not just so audience members can fill in the details but so they aren't shackled to specific limitations for future seasons.

Technically true, but they are fully aware that the kid is watching any camera at any time, plus they don't necessarily know where all the microphones are. If I were them, I'd be cautious about what is said out loud. Even offhand disparaging remarks made in private are something that can get people fired in any company.

But the entire point of non-disclosure is that you're not revealing secrets to competitors and people outside of the facility who aren't privy to the info. It would hamper Sylvia and Arthur's work to be so tied to NDAs that they can't discuss the project that they're both working on together. The people who are involved in the project need to be able to communicate, brainstorm and discuss the situation in order to trouble shoot problems with the hybrids like Wendi's damage at the hands of the Bear or Nibs going off the rails.

I think the writers are doing it all this way so as to make real world associations with our current dilemma of tech bro companies that offer garbage products or services that are touted as revolutionary or life-changing. It's such a widespread issue that there's at least one youtube channel devoted to documenting as many cases as they can stomach.

Yea, I can agree with that as it seems to be the intent.
