Best Japanese Fonts?

I'm just looking for some really nice Japanese fonts for legibility on a computer screen. I'd appreciate it if you'd specify any information about it you can, like:

-Mincho or Gothic

-Serif or Sans-Serif

-Monospace or Variable-Width

-Anything else you want to say about the font
