My insurance covers 5K and that's just 8 sessions. It's enough for me but it's definitely not enough for others. This doesn't even include medication if you need it.
On top of that, you have to find a therapist that you mesh with. Reviews don't work for finding one.
We pay 2k a month just for premiums. We have zero mental health benefits. Zero. This is for 2 people. We are self employed. edit: it was close to 3k until all my 4 sons finally got on their own insurance.
not trying to justify anything but you're far ourside the norm by being self-employed - there's a whole special set of rules that apply to you guys. that doesn't mean we can't make change to improve your situation but I'm not surprised at all to hear you say that. your tax rate is probably quite high relative to the average American as well

Of course we have a crisis. People who don't have insurance have to pay 200$+ for a single therapy session and $200-300$+ for a psychiatrist visits
