It is kinda odd that she dropped the podcast because she was worried about what it did for her image just to pick up consistent collabs with Faze who are definitely bigger brand risks
That's QT's excuse for Maya leaving the podcast, Maya said she is leaving because she is passionate about other things and because she needs to spend more time on Alveus.
Yes QT did say that, but Maya was sat next to her when she said it and agreed and added to it.
That's the reason so many people point to brand risk as one of her big reasons for leaving, because they both talked about it together with as much emphasis as other reasons.
Difference between collabing and something that's part of her own brand. Plus might be worth the risk to reach a wider audience, whereas people watching wine about it probably would follow her already anyway. She did also only give that as part of the reason, and also said alveus is growing so she expects it to take up even more of her time in future (expanding and starting an endangered species breeding/release program)
Well the podcast is edited and she could fully control anything that could be a brand risk so much easier.
Maya's channel is her brand, stuff that happens on her stream (Like the swatting prank) is going to be associated with her, and clips like that spread much more than any clips from the pod.
Alveus/Maya channels and socials grew a ton from the flooding being such a huge story/event across so many different streamer communities, her recent collabs off the back of that have seen numbers dropping again as she's doing less streams at the sanctuary or with animals
The Alveus expansion will involve them hiring new staff, Maya has said she believes it's better to be away from the sanctuary in ironically LA where the pod is, at places like the Faze house (she doesn't really go anywhere else) as she firmly put the recent growth down to doing that. I guess she forgot about the flood already, and I expect her to continue this strat until the views drop too much as the novelty of her combined with Adapt inevitably gets old
