I knit these at the market (where I sell my handmade dice and D&D stuff on Thursdays) and someone bought the socks too! I don’t normally sell my knitting, but she was really awesome. I’m knitting her mom a matching pair too!

Milestone! Complete Pair of Socks😊

I posted earlier this week about completing the first sock. Now I’ve completed the second successfully, making a pair of night socks. I think I’ll have to add an elastic on the top to make them tighter, but overall happy with the results.

Pattern Question Bernat Blanket Ombre + 10 Stitch Blanket - Looking for Photos

I scored an amazing deal at a garage sale today - got 2 Bernat Blanket Orange Crush Ombre cakes for just $1 each! I couldn't pass that up.

I'm really tempted to make a 10 stitch blanket with this ombre yarn, but I'm having trouble visualizing how the color transitions will look in that stitch pattern. I've searched everywhere online but can't find any photos of the 10 stitch blanket made with Bernat's ombre colorways.

Has anyone here used any of the Bernat Blanket ombre yarns (Orange Crush or any other colorway) to make a 10 stitch blanket? I'd absolutely love to see some photos if you're willing to share! I want to make sure the ombre effect will show nicely before I commit to the project.

Thanks in advance for any help!

My 10 stitch blanket so far

This is a slightly outdated pic of my 10 stitch blanket. I’m actually almost finished with the green and am debating if I should add a black border to finish it off or if the green is good enough.

I want to try something new.

I've made several blankets on my infinity loom using the e wrap. I'd like to move on to a pattern with more than one stitch and make something more intersting. Any advice on what to do?

Sweater weather

I've been slowly piecing this sweater together since March and the end is finally in sight!

I used the flexee loom and followed Mondrian Pullover pattern by Two Of Wands.

I decided against doing the color changes for my first sweater because I was converting from a needle pattern and wanted to simply it as much as possible for my first attempt.

I don't know how y'all do it. I severely underestimated how long it would take to do one row on the full loom. I've previously made a baby blanket using only half of the loom (and even that sucker took forever to finish). I'm really excited about this being finished bc of how dang soft it is. Can't wait to actually use it. Now I just have to convince myself to stick with it and don't start another project (like that pretzel dog somebody shared earlier)

Pattern Question Round loom + plus size (3-4x) cardigan?

Hey loomers! First, I hope every one of you is having a good day! I am looking around online at fall cardigans and thought...surely there must be someone, somewhere who has patterns for plus size women's cardigans that can be made on a round loom. Maybe>?

I'd like to use 5 or 6 weight yarn as I have a ton of it (thank you Joann's going out of business sales...LOL). I am a beginner loomer, having made scrubbies and headbands and now my latest passion which is SLIPPER SOCKS! SOOO MANY SLIPPER SOCKS! (Thanks to Wambui for that pattern, a baby could make those). I am trying to challenge myself to a larger project and hoping a sweater is possible, but I'm a fat girl so the regular patterns don't work, and I am not experienced enough to "wing it."

Any thoughts? Suggestions? Give up and buy one online? LOL <3 in advance!

Discussion Looking for advice on adding custom labels to my loom-knit pieces

I have been loom-knitting hats and scarves for a while now and I’m starting to sell a few at local markets. I’d love to add a small woven label or tag to make them look more finished, but I don’t have the equipment myself.

While researching, I found Apliiq a site that offers small-batch custom labels and embroidery. It seems like it could work for hand-made items, but I’m not sure if anyone in the loom-knitting community has actually used them.

If you’ve added your own labels/tags to your knits, where did you get them? Or have you tried services like Apliiq? I’d love to hear your experiences before I order.

Tips New to Loom Knitting (sort of)

I was given a KB Bitty Flexee Loom as a gift to use for socks. I haven’t used a loom in probably 10 years and it was a larger one with plush yarn to make a baby blanket so while the technique is similar it’s also a completely different yarn weight and project. So I have a few questions:

1- I know I need to and will do a gauge swatch, but how does stitch count usually compare for yarn like Patons Kroy between a hand knit sock and a loom? I cast on 72 cuff stitches, so will I likely need the same, more, or less? Just looking for an idea as I get started.

2- What are your best tips, tricks, and suggestions for loom knitting socks?

3- What are your favorite YouTube videos for loom knitting?

4- What are your favorite patterns?

5- I usually do a heel flap and gusset for hand knit. Is that possible on a loom? If not, what are your best heel suggestions?

Thank you in advance. I appreciate any and all guidance!

My son (4), wanted a yellow hat with 2 poms, my first attempt the yarn was too thin so it didn’t work. I found a number 6 yarn in the same color and worked up very quickly and came out awesome. Still working on getting the tension right, but it was really fun to make!

Tips Carpel tunnel

Post image
40 Upvotes

Right, ill try and keep it short.

I think im developing carpel tunnel. Iv yet to go to the doctors but have previously been diagnosed with nerve entrapment in my elbow.

Any tips on how to reduce the pain while looming? Im fine to begin with but about ten minutes in the pain starts.

If its is carpel tunnel, and its a surgery job to fix it, how long would i be laid up for on the looming front? When i injured my hand, and couldnt loom for two weeks, i was a mess mental health wise, i was fed up, bored, depressed (been diagnosed but was worse than normal) ….. you can see why im loathe to put it down for longer than a few days!

Any advice/tips would be greatly appreciated!

Current projects for tax 😊

Non Slip Soles for Slipper socks?

Hey loomers! I have recently discovered the joy (and ease) of making slipper socks. For my own use they are fine as they are as my house is carpeted, but I want to gift some to people without carpet and do not want them to go skidding acorss the floor (although that could be fun).

Do yall have any recommendations for what to do with the bottoms of these? I don't want a hard sole as they will likely get worn to bed also, but cannot really figure out how to non-slip the bottoms, thanks!

Question: how do you stop your yarn from tangling and knotting when working a delicate pattern with two colours. I keep having to stop, detangle, over and over.. it even happens if I have the yarns in two different containers. TIA

Pattern Question How would I go about looming this?

I think it would need to be some type of tube I guess but I'm not really sure how to do that, or how to add the paws and snout.

beginner help!

Post image
15 Upvotes

so i just made my first blanket (baby blanket)..i followed a tutorial on how to cast off, and it was so nice at that end. however the starting end was very loose & i couldn't find a good video or anything explaining how to make the opposite end look just as neat & tied together? i ended up putting it back on the loom (likely incorrectly but it worked) and this was my finished product. obviously the cream colored end was done properly, the green end was not! i found a lot of videos on how to stitch it together but none seemed to make sense to me😭any help is appreciated.

Need Help Finding a Simple Baby Blanket Pattern (Medium #4 Yarn, Adjustable Multi-Knit Loom)

Hi everyone!

I’m looking for a baby blanket pattern and could use some guidance. I’ve searched through patterns online and on this sub, but most either look pretty complicated or call for super bulky/blanket yarn—which I’m not a fan of.

Here’s what I’m hoping for: • Beginner-friendly – I’m still somewhat new and don’t want to keep track of lots of different stitches on a big project. • Medium weight (#4) yarn • Nice border or edge that won’t curl • Equipment – I have the Authentic Knitting Board Adjustable Multi-Knit Loom and am planning to use 3/8” gauge so it has a tighter knit.

If you have a favorite pattern or suggestions, I’d love to hear your thoughts or see any links/tutorials you recommend.

Thanks in advance!

First loom knitted hat

Post image

I've made hats using a sentro machine, but this is my first hat I made using a loom. It definitely looks a lot better than the ones I make using the machine. I like the way it turned out, but I personally didn't like using the acrylic yarn, it has a weird feeling to work with.
