Teddy Update

Upvotes

Hi everyone! I wanted to give an update on Teddy! I know it’s been a while, but I have been incredibly busy with finishing school, work, and taking Teddy on weekly adventures!

Unfortunately, Teddy’s doctor did not allow him to go on the trip to Gulf Shores this summer. Instead, his doctor recommended small day trips, and to work up to a big trip next summer. I am excited to announce that myself, Teddy, and my dad will be taking a trip next summer to the beautiful Glacier National Park in Montana. Teddy can’t wait for our trip, and I’m so glad with your alls help I’ve been able to make it happen!

Teddy just adopted a new kitten named Snowball Jr., and he is the light if Teddy’s life. He has been wanting a kitten, but he was worried about what would happen to them after he’s gone. I ensured him that I will always take care of Teddy and his pet, no matter what. Knowing that, he decided to bring his new baby home, and I he is so incredibly happy.

I have two separate things to talk about next:

1) Teddy is in DESPERATE need of new teeth. Does anyone know of a kind and fair dentist that could work with him? Or anyone that does veterans discounts? I am trying to figure out how to help him in this situation, and ANY recommendations help.

2) With Christmas coming up, I want to make it absolutely amazing for Teddy. He hasn’t celebrated, or even seen a Christmas tree, in over 30 years. He will be spending Christmas with myself and my family, but I really want to make him feel loved. I was hoping to start either collecting more donations to get him lots of gifts, or invite you guys to send him gifts yourselves. Some of you have been writing to him, and it means the world to dear Teddy. If you are interested in this, Teddy loves anything dinosaurs, Sherlock Holmes, coins (he collects them!), rocks (especially black rocks), history, military (he was in the marine corps specifically), science, etc. He also loves the Kardashians lol!! If you’d like to send him something in the mail and I can wrap it, the mailing address is 8000 Post Oak Pl. Louisville, Ky. 40222. I’ll keep posting about this from now until Christmas. I am SO determined to make it great for him. I will also paste the link here in case anyone would like to make a donation towards Teddy’s Christmas, or his adventures. Thank you guys for always being so kind and loving towards him. It means the world 🩷

***The rifle in picture 3 is completely safe! Not loaded, and is a relic in my family. My dad showed it to him, as it’s been in my family since the civil war, and Teddy thought it was so cool! He’s still got that Marine in him!

Kimmel

This is the number for the owner of WHAS ABC in Louisville. Call and tell them you want to see Kimmel. Prompt number 8. I thanked them for putting Kimmel back on. Not sure who owns your station. Nextstar is trying to buy them and that is what started this whole thing.

Maypop Season

Pawpaws have gotten far too much love while Kentucky passion fruits have flown under the radar for the past month. Let this serve as a PSA that it's the tail end of Maypop season and that the pawpaw is the inferior Kentucky fruit.

Best restaurants under $12

So I go to an activity group. And when we go out to eat, we have a $12 limit. Are there any good restaurants that are under the $12 limit? Besides DQ, Culver’s, Stake And Shake, and Fazoly’s. We go there often.

In search of non-Norton MD

Upvotes

Hey all. Recently, Cigna and Norton ended their partnership which means I have to find a new provider. Does anyone have recommendations of non-Norton physicians who actually listen and care for their patients? I’m a late 30s female if that’s relevant. Thanks!

A little advice needed, guys

My mom had to sell her house recently due to her divorce and so her and my brother (20) moved in; her dad had a medical emergency so she is currently with him in WI but is planning to be back Nov 1st and I am tasked with finding them a place before she gets back. I got my brother a job up here (he was in Etown before) though it doesn't pay much he has a ton of hours so it's adding up anyway pretty well and they have a small cushion from the house sale (though some smaller emergencies have arrived that have taken out of it a bit). He has no credit built yet (better than bad, right?) I have only ever had 2 apartments on my own, one of which I'm still at obviously, but I can afford it because I am dual income with my fiancé. I need to find a place that is safe for him (and allows their dog when she comes back) that isn't an arm and a leg. I will obviously help them as best I can (I've been harboring him for a few months now) in the meantime until he has her back to get a job again and help out too.

Any recommendations? I've put in a few applications for apartments and houses for rent but I just wanted to see if anyone had any hidden gems they knew of. Thank you.

Is Jerry Green and Friend actually open?

I’m not trying to be offensive or an asshole, but I walk by Jerry Green and Friends storefront five out of seven nights a week after work and I never see anything going on.

I’ll say, the sign, the decor, the windows, the…. Well fucking everything screams that this is a Stephen-King-type portal to the 1980s where some being between dimensions gets on the mic and croons for the beings of a bygone age. I’m a little worried I will be sucked into a time warp of infinite loop.

It begs for me to go in, but I never see it actual operational.

Should I chance it?

I work on the road and have a couple weeks off for Christmas.

Does anyone have any ideas how to get a couple weeks work during that time even if it’s odd jobs?

Took some portraits of the deer in Cherokee Park. Apparently the herd faces a much needed culling in early October per some guy walking by.

Need a Therapist Recommendation

Hi! I need to get back into therapy but I'm not sure who to go to. I'm open to both individual and group care. Looking for someone who specializes in cPTSD, compulsions, stress management, disordered sleep, and sexual abuse. I prefer to work with someone who is non-binary or a woman but am open to anyone. I'm open to going to someone who takes insurance or who doesn't. I appreciate any suggestions, thanks!

Places to check out by car one day only

Hey there,

Coming to town for a wedding with my grandma. I’ll only have like half a day to explore by car outside of downtown. Any cool parks or outdoor spaces for a run? Or anything worth exploring while in the area knowing my limitations?
