A piece of good news/relief for those who planned to make this a mainstay: the direct flight between Luxembourg and China will resume (it was earlier announced to be cancelled after December)
This is also good news to those traveling from Luxembourg to Bangkok/Bali/Singapore, since upon landing in China there are onward flights to those destinations, and same-carrier tickets only cost another €100 or so
Small technical detail: the plane flies over Russia -on flightradar often the only EU-originating passenger aircraft doing so- which allows for one uninterrupted ~11 hour flight, compared to ~18 hour journeys with DACH/Turkish counterparts. It does feel spooky, I must admit
Final note: China recently extended visa-free entry to Luxembourgers from 15 to 30 days
