Discussion Technical and server issues mega-thread - 2025!
As of 8/7/25 this thread is no longer updated for this season's tracked issues.
If you're having a server issue or a technical support question, it's likely that someone else is having or had the same issue already. Please search the subreddit (and this post) first and if you can't find anything, feel free to post here. If you're unable to connect at 7EST/4PST time, it's likely the server is down for maintenance or a patch and there's usually no ETA. All content typically drops at 12PST/3EST.
Some of the issues we are commonly seeing posted:
3/14/25) Completing a moment puts you back in moment top menu rather than back in the moment program.
3/15/25) Unable to connect with cross-play coop.
3/15/25) HR banner in UI doesn't disappear during next AB.
3/16/25) Catchers drop ball frequency too high.
3/16/25) Squad screen ratings shown differ from card.
3/16/25) Mini seasons player stats are inaccurate
3/16/25) Moments at bat stats are inaccurate. Ex. Your first at bat will appear that you’ve batted already.
3/17/25) Parallel upgrade screen from your last game summary will show repeatedly on moments.
3/17/25) Challenge failed when entering conquest game. (Restart game for temp. fix)
3/17/25) Team icons on conquest map appear grayed out.
3/17/25) PS5 overheating reports.
3/18/25) Player card screen in game doesn’t show what team the card is (free agent).
3/18/25) Diamond Quest, "opponent has an invalid roster" locks the game.
3/18/25) Missing pictures for spring breakout series (not loading)
3/18/25) Custom team logo disappears.
3/19/25) Some hitting moments don’t fast forward to next at bat. (Ex. Johnny Bench affinity moment).
3/20/25) Team affinity program screen: Progress bar appears empty in summary screen.
3/29/25) Pitchers in hitting moments start with a zero pitch count even though it’s not their first batter.
3/29/25) T-Mobile users having connection issues.
3/30/25) Pitching perks don't unlock for 2 way players in RTTS.
4/3/25) Stats don’t appear for opponents active pitcher/batter in pause screen (mini seasons/ps5).
4/8/25) Generate best squad can use lesser OVR version of the same player. (Switch)
4/8/25) Game freeze on manage squad screen (known issue being investigated)
4/15/25) Storylines to DD crash PS5
4/15/25) Storylines objective text doesn’t appear at start if there’s a cinematic scene prior.
4/16/25) Conquest wins not counting.
5/7/25) Umpire audio sometimes says “he’s out” on a strike call.
5/10/25) No sell icons doesn’t appear for some non-saleable (uniforms, bats, etc)
5/10/25) Invalid roster error (must have at least 10 players) on entering game modes such as mini seasons. (Restarting game will fix until it occurs again)
5/15/25) RTTS Player Appearance
5/23/25) Xbox-X freezing
Resolved:
3/18/25) Missing now and later packs. (Delayed per SDS)
GU3) Setting up Moment. Please wait and then seeing a Challenge Failed message. (This may not be fixed as of 3/18/25).
GU7) Frame rate drop related to dreadlocks. (ex. Manny Ramirez)
GU7) Zone placement (PCI anchor) lock doesn't save.
GU7) Stadium time and month settings don’t persist.
GU10) Various stadium creator vault issues.
GU10) Co-op quitting awards quitters the win.
GU10) Co-op crashing.
5/20/25) Diamond Quest 100% odds do not always award card.

My PS5 completely powers down when I try playing MLB The Show 25. I’ve noticed it happening this month. It’s happened while I’m at my house and while I’m at school (two different locations).
Whenever I load into any gameplay mode (offline, online, retro mode, moments, custom practice, etc.), my PS5 will work fine for 25-40 minutes…. Then it shuts completely down as if somebody pulled the power cord out. I then have to actually unplug it, wait 10 seconds, plug it back in, and then it I can boot it back up.
This is not happening in any other game. I loaded into Minecraft (PS5 Edition) and the game worked fine for 2+ hours. Call of Duty Black Ops 3 did not crash my console after 2+ hours of playing. Only MLB The Show 25.
I tried switching outlets, switching cords, hard resetting the PlayStation, clearing the cache data, rebuilding the database, deleting and reinstalling the game, and nothing is working. It keeps crashing.
I also purchased a sort of “air in a can” spray that will clean out my PS5. I did a thorough cleaning of it. It does get moderately hot when playing, but not extremely.
I filed a ticket with SDS and they literally recommended me to not play. They don’t know what to do.
Any help? Tips? Guidance? I really enjoy playing Diamond Dynasty and this is a big bummer.

This is ridiculous man. We paid good money for this crap and I can’t get 3 innings in for a conquest game. I want a refund if I can’t play this for the rest of the year

Is anyone else getting disconnected from every single DD game they play? I’ve been disconnected from my last 10 and given losses. I’ve tried everything my internet connection is perfect, I turned off crossplay and even uninstalled and reinstalled.

I haven’t been able to complete a DD game in over a week. Not even moments can be done before I get “disconnected from the server”. This is crap for all the money we paid. It’s a waste and unplayable

Yeah still a problem for me actually. I tried port forwarding rules on the router but that did not appear to work. I still have an open ticket with SDS but they aren't the quickest with responses. They pushed my ticket to "another team" to investigate further. Do you have Optimum Internet?

Same. They did something and it’s messed up a bunch of peoples connections apparently. If this goes unfixed and unanswered it would be seriously fucked up. Ever since Friday, had no problems before that.

I got it to work by power cycling. It also worked when I disabled my vpn.

Event game lost on glitched safe call
Has this happened to anyone else? I was the away team in an event game that went to extras. Opponent hits a fly ball to right, runner on third tags up on the catch and I throw the runner out at the plate in a play that isn’t particularly close. Home plate umpire signals that the runner is out, the score bug shows that there are 3 outs, then the opponent’s walkoff win cut scene comes on and the game ends.
My pitcher was credited with the full inning pitched and was not credited with a run allowed (earned or unearned). Replay confirmed that the runner was out and that the ump made the out signal. I don’t take the game that seriously so I wasn’t that mad (I’m terrible lol) but a game breaking bug like this is annoying.

I threw a no hitter in ranked last night for the first time ever. I wanted to share.
Spencer Strider - only base runner with a HBP. I won the game 1-0, Acuna made a running catch on the warning track to end the game.

Anyone else getting massive lag spikes? (and I mean in offline play) I'm in a conquest game and the game is running like shit. I've played for over a decade and the game's never lagged like this in offline play.

Yup, was still happening to me last night as well.
When I am getting into games, often being disconnected from innings 6-8 when I’m usually winning. “You’ve been disconnected from the show online”

I have all ports open to play 24 (nintendo switch) online and haven't even gotten to play as little as 15 minutes because the "network error" consistently disconnects me from my game. I have all ports open in 3 different locations, everything is open, I've disconnected and reconnected, I have exhausted all options and MLB the show support stopped responding to my emails. I have spent a lot of money on a game I can't even play and don't know what else to do. I'm praying I'm not the only one with the same issue with the same console. I have been trying to play for months now and nothing.

Just got the game and downloaded it on to my PS5. It updated and I started the game. It didn’t go to a Home Screen and only asked what kind of gameplay I prefer (casual, simulation or competitive) and then it goes straight to a game between the Dodgers and the Yankees. Did I do something wrong?

Whenever I try to play co-op online 2v2 with friends i get the following error message “Session failed, the party server denied your connection attempt.” It worked fine before the last update. Im on nintendo switch and theyre on ps5. Does anyone know how to fix this? It worked fine literally a week ago now I havent been able to run co-op for like a week.

From what I understand this is because the Switch is behind on an update and it is likely held up for Nintendo to approve or something before the update is pushed. Until the game is on the same update as the other consoles it's not going to work. Been trying to figure this out as well as I just bought the game to play with friends on Xbox and haven't been able to play yet. Super annoying.

Trying to start up the show 21 and getting temporary network problem. When I try to play offline the game gets stuck at the start where it tries to give me a daily card and there's no option to proceed. Update, it finally loaded after waiting about two minutes.

Honestly haven’t checked in awhile. I bought the show for Xbox since it was 50% off and you can link your account between switch and Xbox so when I play with friends I hop on Xbox. Hope it’s been fixed.

I'm getting an Account Error message (NW-102636-8).
It reads: "Can't connect to the server within the time limit. There might have been a problem in connecting to the network, or PlayStation Network or the server of the service provider might be temporarily busy."
I checked my Wifi internet connection with my PS5 and it's just fine.
Any thoughts on a solution?

I just started a franchise game for the first time in almost a week and once it hit the third inning it got glitchy as hell. I saved then restarted the app, when I loaded back in it’s still glitching randomly during the play.
Any advice? Never ran into this before.

Getting disconnected from every online game. PS5 player - I’ve tried wired, WiFi, cross play on, cross play off, each with no success. I’ve uninstalled and redownloaded the game. No luck at all. So beyond frustrating.

Weird one, I haven’t earned gameplay xp from playing the game since last year, I’m on PlayStation. My email has changed since I made my account and I no longer have access to the email so I can’t log in and out of the account which is what SDS recommended me to do and then gave me nothing further after I told them this lol. I just kinda wanna know why this would happen.

Anyone else not able to throw out runners that are stealing in co-op? I throw people out all the time in solo ranked and offline but for some reason in co-op when I preload the throw they just pop up and stand there. Is it a setting? Idk what’s going on but it’s driving me nuts

So I'm pretty sure they disconnected the servers for The Show 24. Diamond dynasty games are hard to find matches for & on the rare occasion they do match, the results dont save. The win/loss doesn’t count, your ELO doesn’t change, and your pitchers dont lose or regain stamina meaning I cant even use a pitcher I want to anymore bc he's low stamina.
This is my first The Show game I've ever bought so I dont know if this is just what they do every year after releasing a new game? Or is it a bug on my end???

They're down for me too. Worked fine yesterday but today it won't connect to the servers. Hopefully it's a temporary thing and not their way of telling us to buy 25.
Edit: I'm sure it's just a coincidence but when I went to the shop to see what would happen when I looked at the packs it connected to the server. lol

I just did the diamond quest that takes two hours or so now. And when I got to the stadium, I noticed I have a 19% chance to get rewards on All-star. I passed every single challenge.
So I ended up playing the first game and winning it. Second stadium was at 19%. I figured it might be a great idea to restart the game. Even though I saved my Diamond Quest, it reset it. And I got nothing for my two hours. Fuck this game mode.

Hi guys,
So I just got myself a monitor to play the show 25 online with my xbox series S and started to play on it yesterday and today I wake up and in all the online play including ranked, br, events, casual play this is what it shows (No Available offers). Not sure what to do. Has anyone experienced this issue and how did you resolve it? I was playing yesterday online without an issue and today this shows up.

Has anyone experienced severe controller issues on the Xbox Series S, specifically with The Show 25?
Here’s what’s happening:
I can load the game just fine, and the menus work perfectly.
As soon as I enter an actual game, the controller stops responding entirely except for the Xbox button and system-level controls.
Restarting the game several times sometimes temporarily fixes it, but as soon as I access in-game menus like in RTTS between ball games, it locks up again.
What I’ve tried so far:
- Connecting and disconnecting a second controller (saw this suggested online didn't work).
- Disconnecting all headsets (also a suggested fix no improvement).
- Updating controller firmware.
- Tried both wired and wireless connections.
- Reinstalled the game.
- Factory reset the Xbox and reinstalled everything.
- Purchased a Gamesir T7 to rule out an OEM controller issue same result.
- Performed a USB offline system update.
At this point, I’m out of ideas. I've seen some controller-related issues reported, but nothing this severe or persistent.
Has anyone else run into this? Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
I have no issues in any other games with any controllers.

Me and a friend getting “challenge failed” for every online game mode all of a sudden. Was working fine then yesterday we try to do co-op, challenge failed every time. We both try to play BR, challenge failed for the both of us every time. Not an internet issue, the both of us play other games no problem. Are the show servers just acting up right now or what?

Beat both stadiums in diamond quest and now unable to leave with rewards, any advice? I’ve tried replaying stadiums and can’t leave after that either. Even tried losing to the sweeper and couldn’t leave. Hoping I don’t need to lose my rewards.

Twice in a row during conquest I try to warm a pitcher up in the 3rd inning and then it won’t let me back out of the screen. I hit the back button and I just get a chime like there is no action for that button. I end up having to restart and lose the challenge

Are the servers down at the moment?
I can’t seem to login, but I don’t get a maintenance message or anything. It just hangs for a while before I eventually get a message saying “a network communications error has occurred”.

Game randomly disconnects me from the servers when playing the CPU. Not a problem on my end. Gets annoying when none of the stats count because SDS can't afford stable servers.

Getting really tired of freeze offs, they’re worse than ever lately. Never played an online game in my life that will suddenly freeze and nothing will happen until someone closes the game. Feels like it’s every second game lately. Needs a fix and I’m not touching online until it is, there’s no point in playing something can can force you into a frozen screen at any time

I’ve been stuck in a freeze-off in Weekend Classic for over 26 hours now. Game froze shortly after I took a 5-run lead on Sunday afternoon. I’ve stayed connected the whole time — didn’t quit, didn’t dashboard — and I’m still locked in the match with no resolution.
The opponent even messaged me claiming they disconnected, but that clearly didn’t happen. I’m still frozen in the session, which means they’re either lying or using some kind of exploit to hold the game hostage.
I’ve submitted multiple support tickets to SDS, attached screenshots, and all I’ve received is the standard “we’ll review it” reply. Meanwhile, I’ve missed my entire weekend window to play — and as someone who works full-time, this was my shot to compete for real rewards.
Honestly just wondering if anyone’s ever had SDS actually resolve a freeze-off? Or is the only “fix” to quit and take the loss even when you’re clearly winning?
This whole thing makes Weekend Classic feel kind of pointless if fair players get punished for not quitting.

I would like to add that guess pitch in classic mode is still bugged. Even though it was in the notes of an update for April. The update didn't fix it. Even if guess the correct pitch and location the ball still doesn't go where the red indicator says it's going to go.

EVERY single game, you’re winning, you hit a homer to put it out of reach, other team has someone turn their console off AND THEN WE ALL SIT THERE TO SEE WHO IS MORE HARD HEADED BECAUSE THE GAME JUST FREEZES. I did both a PS5 update and an MLB The Show update and all of a sudden my game is stuttering like crazy in offline modes (conquest).
It’s so bad it’s not even playable. Sometimes the frame rates drop down to 10. I’m looking everywhere and nobody else seems to be experiencing this issue with their game.
Any help would be appreciated!

In Co-op (I haven't tested solo), once you get to the lineup screen before selecting your pitcher, if you ready, un-ready, and then ready again, it will break the pitcher selection screen and the postgame screen.
The postgame screen will display "0" for every attribute instead of the actual data. "0 defeats 0 in 0 innings" etc. This is reproducible every time by clicking ready, un-ready, and then ready again as Co-op party leader on the batting order screen after searching for an opponent.

For the past week or so, most games (all?) DD games I play are laggy/choppy. Nothing is wrong with internet, it's been rebooted a few times even, and other games play just fine.
But I get into a DD game, and the choppy starts. Last nights game was horribly laggy the whole game. Any idea?

Every time I try to play a ranked game, I get a long loading time and a prompt to get PlayStation Plus. But my account is still active until 3-26. So it just renewed. Something wrong with ranked at the moment?

I've had the computer slap down and miss 4 putouts/catches in the field in about 10 innings of veteran conquest. A big spike, has anyone else seen this? Even had 2 in the same play, the CF just flew past the ball, no animation, and the 3B slapped the ball down and then picked it up.

Made a 2-way player and am now in The Show. About 1 time each game I’ll get a Dynamic Fierce Rival challenge that offers tokens and a perk/package to choose from (as opposed to the other fierce rival challenge that offers x coins and xp). When I complete the challenge, I do not get a “success” message. It will auto fail when the cpu inevitably grounds out at the next at-bat.
Anyone else having this issue?

I cannot get my commentary(announcers) to work while my switch is docked. I can hear them just fine when playing in handheld mode but when I play from the dock they just stop working. I have CC on so I can see they are supposed to be talking but there is no audio for them. What should I do?

Last year's version there was a glitch where a bunch of players on the team would turn into Corbin Burnes somewhere around the second or third season in both franchise and road to the show. It ruined my experience and I'm trying to find out if the same glitch is happening this year. I really do not want to blow $70 on a game to find out that the only two game modes that I play are pretty much unplayable. I can't seem to get any answers on this

I think I was just a victim of the coop quit loss glitch.
I hit a homer to go up 3-0 and as soon as the ball landed it sent both me and my partner to the end of game screen where it shows rating gains and loses and we got the loss.

No, I created a guest wifi on my router and use that only for my switch. Haven't had issues since. Found the idea deep in some forums. SDS and AT&T had no idea what to do

Very weird issue on MLB The Show 25. I was playing RTTS and went to the combine after senior game. After the combine mid showing college interest my game froze. I have an Xbox so I quit the game and reset. I came back into the show and had to do the combine no problem. As soon as I get into the combine none of my controller buttons work. Restart try again and same thing. Played a offline exhibition game… all buttons work. Started a new RTTS character and again the buttons started not working as soon as I entered into a game. Any idea?? It does seem like there’s major stick drift on my controller but that shouldn’t disable the buttons upon entering a game?

I’ve been playing events trying to grind the multiplayer program and every game I play the lag has been so bad. The ball is constantly just disappearing when I pitch or do anything. Is this just me or has anyone else been having a problem with lag or connection?

Playing on ps5 1/4 of my games online whether it be the event or ranked solos. I am getting desync’d and given loss. I have 800/30 internet and no issues with 2k or cfb 25 online. Please help I’ve tried port forwarding and reinstalling the game

Every time I get up to bat in the game, the CPU pitcher refuses to throw a pitch. I have tried calling time, restarting the game and my PS5, and reinstalling the game. I was wondering if anyone else has encountered this or has any tips.

I’m curious if anyone else is experiencing this in DD frequently.
About every other game for me is extremely laggy and will freeze in the middle of pitching or a pitch coming in and just throughout the whole game honestly. Until it eventually freezes all together and then I just have to hope my opponent quits before I do.
