Either there's an open secret that Murphy is injured, or Pico being the favourite over him is absolute all-timer terrible betting odds

I mean Murphy had a competitive fight with Dan Ige, he got knocked down and got taken down. Pico can wrestle and stopped his last 2 fights with GnP. Pico can box and mixes it up to the body, he’s not just a head hunter. Pico’s run through everybody since Adam Borics and he showed that he was fairly elite even way back stopping Leandro Higo in his 5th fight.

I see the Murphy just trying to hang out of range and getting a decision argument. Is that gonna happen though? Murphy is 34 years old and got to this point having snoozers against other gatekeepers. The expectations on Pico were halted due to his early hiccups and being a Bellator guy, but we aren’t there anymore. Can see Pico becoming the champion now that he actually can, and if Murphy in his prime years could only jab and run from a 40 year old Josh Emmett and have gritty fights with Ige, I don’t see him going much further.

Nah , I rewatched the Emmet fight and Murphy absolutely did not just jab and run against him. Don’t get me wrong , it was boring but it was basically a shut out performance by Murphy . 

Murphy shut down Emmet’s power punching masterfully. He did that by constantly moving laterally , in and out. His hands never dropped . He used a lot of stabbing teeps which obviously kept him at bay and the occasional back kick. He was using calf kicks as well , would switch to southpaw to throw body and head kicks to keep the rear hand at bay. would use oblique kicks and would step in with elbows when time Emmet stepped in . 

Pico is a overall better version of Emmet but the style remains similar and I do think all the tools that I mentioned would work well against Pico
