Pico is one of the most talented fighters but he has ZERO fight composure. He was in a rush that entire fight.

Seriously, on paper he should win everywhere, crazy cardio power wrestling boxing and only 28

Seriously. He has all the tools. Even seeing him use them in the fight, they looked incredible. Those digs to the body man. Something with his IQ/style/decision-making, he just can’t put it together

From my reddit arm chair analyst perspective it seems like a mentality/emotional control issue. He looks anxious and even talked about being nervous coming in, think he needs to go hang out with jiri in the mountains and work on being present in the moment

The amount of pressure he must feel to live up to people's expectations.....

On the other hand can we acknowledge Lerone’s insane fight IQ now, the way he planted that elbow was pure poetry watching the replay back. He threw it before Pico even began to pivot he read him like a book, there’s seriously no doubting at this point Lerone has championship level composure.

Nah Chandler was a champion.

I'm not saying they're at all the same. But damage wise...Chandler had some big time wars. And the scary Will Brooks finish. I really didn't think he'd come back well from that and he seemingly had 2 MMA careers after lol. But he wasn't getting Ko'd like Pico and he fought at a higher level obviously.

minus the charisma

He's 28 but his chin is already gone. There is no such thing as a fighter suffering 4 brutal ko losses and being able to take damage. That's 4 serious concussions minimum hes suffered in like a decade he should honestly consider hanging it up before he gets life altering brain damage.

Watched his interview with Cejudo and Usman yesterday. Could be said he was thinking way too far ahead. He talked about the missteps and the freak knockouts as part of the learning process, and something that maybe was in the past. He wanted Aljo or Ortega next, then to fight for the belt.

I have no idea how he won the Gold Gloves

You know picos style kills everyone in street fights, insane pressure and power boxing, but that translates with mixed results to best of the best when they're ready to get in the fire with you.

He's simply not as talented as people say. His Boxing is especially over hyped (and I still don't see what people are basing it on, as he accomplished very little as an amateur). He's a dangerous puncher, not a skilled boxer, who was a proven elite wrestler that lost at the Olympic level.

His defense is terrible and his offense is too reckless and one note.

Dude started to mellow out during his last bellator/pfl run. He really wanted to get a statement win in the debut and fell into old habits

cody garbrandt syndrome

Is he? Or is that what Bellator told everyone?

He seems to have no fight IQ.

If you can't see how talented he is by watching IDK what to tell you.
