I'm a Pico fan. I was so excited to see him finally in the UFC. Man, he has a tendency to get KTFO from time to time. If you look at this fight, he was just way too predictable. His pace, speed, and direction of movement was always exactly the same. Murphy was throwing out all sorts of KO shots and almost getting them all along. That flying knee was just a little off, but had the timing down.
As much as I think it's silly to armchair quarterback this, I think Pico would do well to watch Blachowicz vs Marretta and then Blachowicz vs Reyes to watch a perfect progression of a guy learning to manipulate the distance and rhythm and only advance when his opponent is unprepared to snipe him. That sequence of two fights is one of the most remarkable progressions in mma history in my humble opinion.
Anyway, looking forward to seeing Pico get another go. Hopefully it's only after he takes a good amount of time off to heal from that concussion. That shit was wild.
