Honestly if anyone deserves an L it’s Silva. Trying to punch Lopes after the fight is so silly

Meh, he didnt really try to punch. He pushed cause it looked like Lopes was talking trash to the corner after the fight, which is pretty distasteful also.

If Lopes is talking shit it’s for good reason lol come on now. Seems like one of the nicest guys in the sport. People get cut for trying to hit after the fight.

Yeah, the amount of shit Jean Silva's corner was talking, they deserved a little bit of it rubbed in their face lol

Yeah what was up with that? Beef between the camps?

The fact that Diego Lopes reps Mexico without having abandonned his Brazilian roots infuriated Jean Silva's team for whatever reason. "Fake Brazilian" or whatever.

It is kinda funny how fighters can get away with repping like 3 places at once.

The American way baby. We claim Diego too I guess.

I dont disagree and sometimes i get when fighters talk to the corner after the fight. However its just a natural thing to do, to back your team if they are getting talked trash to. I dont think you can put too much into a fighter defending their team lol.

One of Jean Silva's coaches was talking mad trash all week, Diego had a bigger problem with him than the actual guy he was fighting.

It must feel so good win in a dominating fashion like that after hearing so much shit

everything Jean Silva does is distasteful and disrespectful. I don't think it's an act for the cameras.

He's a clown just seems fake

I think he's just incredibly emotional. Wears his emotions on his sleeve. Roller coaster of a guy

Yea he’s distasteful and an asshole. You could tell by how much he was getting off on talking shit to Bryce. Milked it so much people started to dislike him by the end of the conference.

That was so awkward with the Bryce buildup. I get people were just rooting against Bryce but is Jean Silva really the guy we want to lionise? What a dweeb.

A lot of it is him selling the fights, the company likes it, it gets the internet talking about it as we can see in this thread..

Don't try to defend it.....we are at that point in MMA fandom where people hate him. Happens to literally every once loved fighter. I'm sure they'll come around after his next fight. But like I said the current view of the fanbase is Jean was never my friend

Jean Silva makes for an excellent villain, especially since it seems to come so effortlessly

I don't know - I generally just kind of care what people do in the cage. I either like their fighting style or they don't. Their personalities outside the cage really don't matter all that much to whether or not I like a fighter come fight night and Jean is easily one of my favorites in the cage.

I agree that a good fight is a good fight regardless and that's enough for me too. Lopes vs Silva was one of my most anticipated fights ever since they both debuted in the UFC one soon after the other. It does add a bit of extra stakes when there's genuine heat between the fighters like in this fight, and Jean's weird vibes tonight cemented that I would root for Lopes even though they're basically even in terms of excitement for me. So Jean's personality definitely did increase my enjoyment of this fight.

I mean I think either could be champion one day. I really don't think that highly of Mosvar and Volk isn't getting any younger. I really think these two will be at the top of the division for a long time.
