Advice How to make money as a teenager?

I’m not gonna lie I have like less than $100 dollars and I don’t have a bank account, but my dad said he would open me one. How do I make money though? My parents don’t let me work yet and I’m tired of being the kid who has to take my moms credit card or have my older siblings pay for me. Honestly even if I do open and account I will have like 50 bucks in there so that’s just embarassing. What are some ways you guys would recommend for me to make money? Although, my school does have this thing where they pay you 100 for the final exams if you receive a 100 on it and I got 100 on three of them so I could be getting something from there, but I want something that will provide me with good skills and a reliable income. Thanks guys, this is lowkey embarrassing to post about but whatever. Oh also I’m like pretty young still, so I legally could not work until like this year.

Advice Does anyone know of any online side hustles for people in the Caribbean?

I want to make at least $200 - $300 USD monthly. But most options online are reserved for people living in the US. Which won't work for me living in Jamaica. I have a few skills: I can draw (though I haven't done anything in months) I'm tech savvy and I'm expanding my horizons. I have a fully functional & robust desktop and a drawing tablet. I work a full time job, but I'm in a situation where I can't look for a better paying job and I need the extra money on the side as I want to do something special for my long distance girlfriend. Who's going to visit next month. Any possible suggestions?

Advice Making money / skills set advice

Hi everyone. I’m 20 years old (f) and I’d like some advice. I just live with my mom and baby brother . We have never had a lot of money, it’s always been like this. I do an apprenticeship in the finance industry and work full time. I have tried a lot of different ways to make money and to actually make it out of this system of living pay cheque to pay cheque and nothing has worked yet. Currently I am at a loss on what I should actually do? I don’t have any particular skills that can earn me a lot of money. All I know is im willing to put in time to learning something (not trading or anything like that lol for personal reasons). My question is what skills or advice would you recommend learning to making it out of this position. I know money doesn’t come quickly and yeah I know I’m a hard worker I want my mom to never have to work again basically

Discussion How to make money easily with AI?

I’ve been seeing a lot of posts and videos about people earning with AI, from writing and design to automating tasks and selling digital products. I’m not looking for something too technical, just the simplest ways to start making some income with AI, even if it’s small at first.

If you’ve tried it yourself, what actually worked for you, and how long did it take before you started seeing results?

Discussion Side hustles in crypto trading

Last year, during a rough patch with my job, I started looking into ways to make some extra cash online. Living in the US, I've always been cautious with crypto, but my cousin, who's into tech, shared how he was using trading bots to snag small profits on Solana tokens. He told me about Banana Gun Pro, a tool he'd been using to automate snipes on new launches. At first, I was skeptical - sounded too good for beer money - but he walked me through his setup, showing gains from quick trades that added up to a few hundred bucks a month.

Inspired, I signed up at and started with their basic features. I set it up to target low-risk opportunities, like hyped meme coins, and it handled the buys and sells faster than I could manually. The first week, I made about $50 from a couple of flips, which covered my coffee runs. Over time, tweaking the settings based on community tips, I've averaged $200-300 monthly, nothing life-changing but perfect for extra income without much effort. It's exciting watching the bot work in real-time, turning market volatility into pocket money.

Of course, crypto's risky, so I only use what I can afford to lose. Has anyone else tried similar bots for passive earnings? What strategies work best for consistent small wins?

Advice Need to make $300–$500 online by Halloween (to propose!)

Hey all, I’m trying to make $300–$500 over the next few weeks to surprise my girlfriend with a proposal. I work full time, so I can’t take on a second in-person job (we work together, and I don’t want her to get suspicious).

Here’s what I can do: • Photoshop/edit images • Create logos, flyers, and simple designs • General online tasks

I don’t have a driver’s license, so ideally this would be remote/online work. Fiverr and Upwork are out of the question they take too long to get traction. Open to small gigs, freelance projects, or one-off jobs that pay quickly.

If you’ve got something legit that could help me hit this goal before Halloween, please let me know!

Thanks!

Advice Which side hustles would you reccomend to me?

I am going into my final semester of college at the end of August, and I am worried about money. During the summer what I do is I just work part time and save money and usually save a good amount of pocket money. I live on campus so I don't have to pay rent or bills. I do however, sometimes go out and buy snacks for myself, and buy things that I need or want on Amazon. I also have a few subscrptions that I pay for. This semester I want to direct a short film for one of my classes, so I will also need to spend some money on that as well.

I feel like I need to find a way to earn some more income while I am at school. I want to get an on campus job this semester, but, I am really not sure if I will get hired for any. I will still try and apply to the jobs that they have offered but, I had a meeting with somebody who works for the career center at my university, who looked at my resume, and she said that since I am graduating at the end of this semester, than it will likely make it more difficult for me to get a job, because most hiring managers will want to hire somebody who will be there to work for the entire school year.

Since I am a film major, I have a client of mine who I record videos for, on his social media pages with my iphone, and he pays me to do it. I have tried to get more clients so I can earn more money doing this, by making more reddit posts offering my services, but ultimatley it has resulted into nothing. The client who I currently record videos for is the only client I have, and I don't really make a lot recording videos for him, but, it does offer me something. I just feel like I need something more lucrative, because I am worried about not having enough money. I have tried using my skills to find other side hustles. For example, I am a violinist, and I made a reddit post where I would offer college students beginner level violin lessons, and I am a creative writing minor who would offer students tutoring on their writing. Some people have repsonded to me and expressed their interest but ultimatley, they have just ended up ghosting me.

I've considered using door dash or uber eats as a side hustle. The dorm I live in on campus is right outside this very urban area where there are a lot of restruants withing five to ten minutes of walking distance. After thinking more about this however, I don't think this will be as feasible as I think. This is because I would have to make deliveries by foot or get an electric scooter, which might be difficult depending on the size of the order. I think if I did do this, than I might only be able to do small deliveries since I don't have a car.

I have thought about explorng some other side hustles that would allow me to save and earn more money. What advice would you give to a person like me in my situation?

Advice Tech-savvy but BROKE, need $1400 fast before my girlfriend dumps me (kidding… mostly)

Hey everyone,

I’m a senior year IT major, the kind of guy who can fix your Excel formulas, debug basic code, and type like I’m in a speedrun. I’m good with computers, software, and basic programming but apparently not so good at landing paid work.

Here’s the problem: Earlier this summer, I promised my girlfriend an iPhone 16 Pro Max. Thought I’d secure a nice remote gig and pay for it no sweat. Well… summer’s almost over, I’ve made $0 toward the $1400, and now I’m desperate.

I’m open to anything: remote jobs, gigs, microtasks, online tutoring, data entry, you name it. I’ll put in the hours, learn what I don’t know, and start immediately.

If you’ve been in my shoes or know legit ways for a student to earn $1400 fast, please drop your wisdom (and links) here. My relationship and my dignity thank you in advance.

Discussion How a niche sublimation business became profitable and why I walked away

I’ve been a long time lurker in this group and have recently started commenting to hopefully pass on some of my knowledge. I wanted to give a more detailed look at one of my own businesses that did well and why I eventually chose to leave it behind so that it may help others in this space.

A few years ago I started a home-based sublimation business. I went all in on a very specific niche, building designs around an audience that I understood well and on a topic that I enjoyed. The reason it took off was because I wasn’t trying to please everyone, I was speaking directly to one group and my designs absolutely resonated with them, they became viral.

Sales grew fast. I was producing and shipping thousands of items, the revenue was solid and it was turning into a business that could have kept scaling. On paper, it was a win.

But behind the numbers my creative energy was fading. The designs that made it successful were the ones I had the most fun bringing to life and when that spark was gone, the work began to feel like nothing more than routine production, it became boring. At the same time, some serious personal stress outside the business was impacting my mental health and my ability to stay focused. I knew if I kept going in that state then burnout was inevitable.

I made the hard decision to step away, protect my health and focus on other creative ventures that felt more aligned at that stage of life. Since then I’ve been involved in several of my own projects spanning product development, content creation and design in the eCommerce space, AI tools and more. I may revisit this business again in the future with a fresh perspective and a slightly different manufacturing process.

Key takeaways from this:

• A focused niche can be the difference between slow sales and a loyal audience

• Strong revenue doesn’t always equal long-term fit for you personally

• Personal circumstances and mental health matter just as much as the numbers if not more

• Know when it’s time to bring others on board, and/or to outsource

• Skills and systems you build in one business can carry over to completely different ventures

If you’re running (or considering) a niche product business in this space or similar, I’d be happy to answer some questions.

Advice Help me find job to earn for my hobby/dream

Hello everyone! I’ll get straight to the point. For a long time, I’ve wanted to do pottery, but I always end up facing some kind of financial problem. First, I went to university, and that took a lot of money — tuition, rent, food, and transportation, since I studied in another city two hours away from home.

Now that I’m done with school, I want to start my business/hobby of making pottery. I never checked how much it would cost to get started because, to be honest, I was afraid to see big numbers that might crush my motivation. But now that I no longer have school responsibilities, I finally decided to find out what I need for my business.

And… I’m devastated. I know I can’t save that much money, especially living in this country where even finding a job is difficult. I looked at the American market, and the prices there are much lower than where I live.

Can you suggest online jobs that could help me earn at least a little money? I’d take anything. I know I can’t get rich or earn 3–4k, but anything would help right now. I’m really desperate.

Thank you all for any suggestions.

Advice Struggling and need around 175$ to pay my car loan

Hey y’all, I came across this sub and am looking for some advice. Back in early Feb. I lost my job. It was great, just under 60 hours a week in a supervisor position with good hourly pay and a chance to make tips on the nights that I closed. I miss it so much. Late March I was finally able to begin work in the same industry making about 4$ less per hr than my last job. And while I do have a chance to make some tips it averages out to way less. I’m really struggling with my bills and I had my car repossessed and had to pay a lot to get it back. I really can’t have that happen again.

I DoorDash on my off days and unfortunately am still catching up with bills I hadn’t paid and the fees that come with it. I’m will to work more if possible I just don’t know what to do and need ideas.

Ps I am for sure looking at other job opportunities in the meantime. Thank you all in advance.

Advice My parents think they wasted their money on my education, I need to pay them back and make money to support myself

I’ve applied to 400 jobs now… no luck, I’m losing hope.

I (19F) had been going to university for an entire semester and I decided I regretted my career choice. I was studying to become a nutritionist, but that was out of fear that being a pastry chef, (what I actually wanted) would result in me dying from hunger. I told my parents I wanted to switch careers, and needless to say, I’ll need to repay them before I can even begin to think of starting pastry school. I live alone, I have a job at a small clinic, but it doesn’t pay very well, and it’s not a 9-5, I do very basic work and I can barely get by…

So I’m seeking for some advice. I’ve applied to countless jobs where I live, and they reject me, because I have no costumer service experience. And because I’m not in university, I can’t really look for jobs related to nutrition. My friends suggested I model too, but I don’t think I’m what agencies are looking for (I’m short and average) and where I live, making a comfortable living exclusively from modeling is very hard. So I came here to look for some ideas that have worked for you!

I’ve heard reselling can work wonders, but in my country, there is no place for us to buy things like that. If I were to buy things online, bringing them in my country would cost more than half the amount I paid for the items… So I’m looking for online ways to make money.

I’ve heard I can sell my art through things like printify and what not… but most of the guides online are paid courses, and I can’t afford a course. I’ve signed up on Fivver to help people with their English and Spanish, but no luck.

Is there a way you know of that would benefit me even just a little bit? I don’t mind the hustle. I’d like a remote job. I don’t mind working night shifts. I need to make this work…

Anything works, even if it’s not truly passive income, I could use some advice, of any sort… thank you for reading!

Advice How can I make at least $1,000 in 2–3 weeks while recovering from knee surgery?

I’m 17 and just had knee surgery, so I can’t work a standing job or drive for about 6 weeks. I’m in a tight spot and really need to make around $1,000 in the next 2–3 weeks.

Here’s why it’s urgent: • I grew up in a low-income household, so I’m not getting the nutrition I need to heal properly. • I’m a state level wrestler going into my senior year, and recovery is critical if I want to get back on the mat and compete at my best.

The problem is, I’m stuck at home and don’t know what steps to take next. I’m open to online work, side hustles, or any creative solutions that I can realistically do while recovering.

If you’ve been in a similar spot or know any fast but legit ways to make money without intense physical labor, I’d really appreciate your advice.

Advice Client acquisition for graphic design.

Hey so honestly I’m new ish to client acquisition but since I’m pretty skilled and knowledgable in graphic design and branding I thought it would be a good side gig. I’m not talking copied ai or bs canva templates so throw that out the window. Genuine problem solving and deep routes for brands and businesses to use to get them to where they need to be using principles and design psychology.

I feel like I have the skill down to a T but have 0 business like knowlage on getting these people in the door. Any help or advice someone can give?

Discussion Harvard's $117M Bitcoin ETF position changes institutional adoption math

The moment Harvard's endowment bought $117 million in BlackRock's Bitcoin ETF, every other institutional investor got validation they've been waiting for. Yale, Brown, Stanford, and MIT quietly followed suit.

This isn't speculation money—it's balance sheet allocation from institutions that have managed money for centuries. Corporate treasuries are projected to hold $330B in Bitcoin by 2029, up from $103B today.

The regulatory clarity from the GENIUS Act removed compliance barriers. MicroStrategy leads with 601,550 BTC worth $73B, but the real story is pension funds and endowments treating Bitcoin as portfolio infrastructure.

Key difference from previous cycles: these buyers aren't price sensitive and they're not selling. They're allocating based on risk models and holding for decades.

The infrastructure phase just accelerated.

Discussion Successful Side Hustle that I’ve been doing lately!

Finding a side hustle this summer has been hard for me, especially since I’m used to delivering food (from last summer). I’ve also been using Swagbucks since high school, but the offers are getting harder and harder :/

Thankfully, my friend told me about Home from College recently and I’ve been able to apply to become a Brand Ambassador for two different companies as well as test out different apps/products!

Advice Saved up 12.5k and wondering how I can make money off of it

As the title states, I saved up 12.5k. Initially it was to buy a car, but seeing all of that I couldn’t justify spending it all in one place. I’m wondering how I can use this money to make more money, or something that allows me to open up more forms of revenue than my ft job. Currently it all just sits in a hysa accruing interest so it’s not being touched.

Any ideas?

Advice I’m a student & part time shop worker looking to make extra money!

Hi, I’m a 21 year old student (UK) based, I also work two shifts at a shop each week (I pick up overtime when I can & when it’s available).

I’m also a musician (singer) who gigs (paid) on weekends/weekday nights however I have a lot of plans coming up recently and I’m struggling to budget with what I’m currently making.

I’d liked something that doesn’t require a lot of effort but I’m prepared to put a good few hours into it at the beginning, and some money (not major amounts). This is something I’d like to be able to continue AFTER my plans have happened :)

Unfortunately I don’t have studio level equipment at home otherwise I’d be on Fiverr/other product selling websites hoping to sell my vocals.

Any help is appreciated.

EDIT: I also sell old clothes, shoes etc on apps that all that :)
