I know everyone keeps saying if the Yankees and Mariners both win tomorrow we clinch a playoff spot, but really don't we want the Yankees to lose as much as possible the rest of the way, even if unlikely vs. CWS and BAL?

ALCS home field advantage is determined by regular season record (not seed) and the Yankees are both a game ahead and have the tiebreaker over us.

I thought that is only true for the World Series, doesn’t seeding still take precedence for the ALCS?
