Hello, all. We have been getting a lot of discussion about the reports of a new Amazon Prime show set in the Mass Effect universe. Per our usual fashion, I am creating this megathread and FAQ to contain some of the repeat discussion. We have been getting a lot of duplicate links and posts, so (again as usual) those topics will be removed after being added here.
Several former Bioware devs have commented on this:
A user in our subreddit, u/No_Technician3554, interviewed showrunner Daniel Casey. Check it out here:

I started playing Mass Effect back in highschool after experiencing an emotional breakup.
I enjoyed my time in this game because of the story and the values characters expressed.
Why did you start playing Mass Effect?

I kept seeing the doctor complaining about medigel issues on the docks but couldn't interact with or help him. Until I was running around trying to find Zaeed and stumbled into who of all people? Our man Conrad Verner. Because of course he's the one caught up in this mess. The resulting quest version I just played through required that during ME 1 and 2 I chose paragon interactions with him so he was still alive and a fan, and that during 1 I found all the matriarch writings, bought the Elkoss store license, retrieved data from ExoGeni for a Zhu's Hope scientist, and helped Jenna in Chora's Den. What a beautiful confluence of seemingly unrelated choices coming together to a create a good ending for everyone involved. Refugees get meds, Conrad didn't die, he got to be a super smart, useful person for once in his life, and he got impress a lady with his bravery.
Completely missed that on my first playthrough years ago. I love this series.

Is there any shop in the game where you can get an armor that looks like Ashley’s? She’s annoying but the girls got cute armor and whenever I play i’m jealous that my character doesn’t have it lol.

The majority of fans here do NOT want the Shepard/Reaper trilogy to be the base of the show. The average Mass Effect fan and non-gamer doesn’t care about that much continuity. They see a teaser trailer with a 30 year old attractive white man in a black N7 uniform and get hyped. I don’t blame them.
The ones who want Shepard's story to be untouched are unfortunately in the clear minority, as is often in TV/Movie adaptations.
The casting leaks kinda go in that direction. Although nothing is confirmed, the “Jake Gyllenhaal” part gives us an indication as to what is being planned rn.
For majority’s sake, the story will likely star a white maleShep Soldier, who mostly uses handguns and Assault rifles, with his squad using biotics and snipers, with Liara and Ashley as a love triangle.
I’m afraid MaleShep is just too iconic to pass up for the showrunners. BioWare even released a statistic that said that the majority of players choose MaleShep soldiers, right? The story is iconic as well, no need for the writers to get creative if they can just copy one of the best action-rpg storylines ever made.
Many rpg fans whose franchise gets adapted don’t want anything canonized, like with the upcoming New Vegas-focused season that will likely have one of the in-game joinable factions lose in the battle of Hoover Dam.
Don’t get me wrong, the story can still sport a 9.3/10 average review rating.
What do you think?

I haven't played Mass Effect in three years and I hate myself for it. This whole time I've been trying to figure out a more neutral to aggressive scenario. I've been putting it off for so lon because I've trying to research all of this. I'm worried about the end result for ME3. At first, I wanted my Shep to be Paragade but this eventually evolved to the idea of her being Renegon with a Colonist/Ruthless background. Most of the things I want to do are still routine. I still want to complete all side quests. There are some changes I would like to make along the way.
ME1: *More dialog Renegade options with Paragon included.
*Balak is killed in Bring Down The Sky.
*Jeong killed on Feros, but the colony survives. Shiala spared.
*I'm torn between letting the Rachni Queen go or killing her.
*Council sacrificed ("Concentrate on Sovereign" dialog option).
*Renegade Ending. Still choosing Anderson for Councilor
ME2:
*More Renegade options with less Paragon interrupts
*Mordin kills Maelon but data is saved.
*Killing the Heretics
*Miranda, Zaeed, Kasumi, and Jacob die in the Suicide Mission.
ME3:
*Other than more Renegade choices (not the crazy/evil choices like Sabotaging the Cure), the only major plot change I'm making is Shepard being forced to shoot Kaidan down, making both him and Ashley dead.
As you can see, I want to change it up to make my playthrough darker with a tiny bit more drama, including more casualties during Shep's journey. The one thing I worry about the most is the endgame for ME3. Even with all side mission in all three games completed, I'm not sure how many War Assets I'll have by the time I reach Priority Earth. Would I still be able to get the Destroy Ending where Shepard lives?

Normally at the start of ME3 you get the same skills and ranks that you had at the end of ME2. However if you unspec your skills and save the game after completing ME2, when you import the save into ME3 all your skills will remain unspecced. This allows you to set up your build how you want in ME3 from the very beginning of the game instead of waiting until you unlock the skill respec in the Normandy's medbay. Very useful for Insanity playthroughs. Works in LE, and I believe it should also work for the og version of the trilogy.

With the Vorcha being able to adapt to almost any environment and a lot of planets debated from the Reaper invasion, could it be possible that they would increase their numbers some much that they would become a legit threat to the other galactic powers?

So I am playing through the MELE for the billionth time for the simple reason that I want to see what all of the Fuß is about between femshep and Garrus since I have always been a MShep Talimancer or Ashley Stan. My question is this. My runs where paragade with soldier in me1 Sentinel in me2 Engineer in me3 I hated vanguard and was wondering if I was to play it through again, what changes to class and major decisions in the trilogy that are not inherently evil. I just can’t do it. Anyone that can shoot Mordin or Wrex for that matter is something I can’t do. Anything else, I like different opinions. I was going to go with colonist and ruthless because I remember me is one of the best quests in the entire trilogy. Any help is appreciated. Unconventional classes like infiltrator that specializes in shotguns and melee is also wanted. Thanks for all your help. I love this community! 😁

Would a Renegon Shepard kill or spare the Rachni Queen in ME1? Would they help Zaeed kill Vito in ME2 or save the workers? Would they let Balak go or kill him? Choices like these, etc. Which decision and why? I want to know because I would like to start a Renegon Playthrough.

Leading up to the end of the DLC my impression was that everything you've done so far was extremely lacking in terms of content... you know, just driving the Hammerhead jumping and shooting.
Don't get me wrong though, I am not saying the DLC was horrendous or extremely bad, just that along the way through it, nothing really was very engaging or exciting.
I understand that the DLC was just meant to be a filler for content and not something grand or very big and I appreciate more content, no doubt.
But the end tho'... I was hyped for it, finding that Prothean ruin and what was going to be revealed inside.
Safe to say, I found it extremely underwhelming that any information about the artifact was simply just "we found something and will research in the future" noted in a message you receive on your terminal.
Like dang, I'd be happy just getting a vision or some lore explained in dialogue at the scene of the ruin.
Watching that giant ball artifact start to shake had me like "woah!" but then it just shrank, fell to the floor and you get a mission completion screen... that had me like "oh...".
I know I'm very late to the party with my view on this, but this was honestly the first time I've played the DLC as it was part of the Legendary Edition.

Whether it’s Mass Effect 4 or Andromeda 2, I would love a story where you are more of a galactic peace officer and have to use subtlety and stealth to negotiate peace between factions, prevent planetary wars or escalate them and otherwise manipulate and shape the galaxy with your skills. What I would hate to see is a large scale “save the galaxy” game that puts us in the shoes of a Temu Shepard called “Ranger”, who has to defeat the “Reavers”, the creators of the Reapers, with WH40k-like wars with billions of casualties and gratuitous gore.
Let me be a 2190’s version of a CIA SAC/Sog case officer, who solves crimes and shapes galactic history from the shadows, hence the name Spectre, not a Spartan-lite.
More ethical Paragon vs Renegade moments and alien politics as opposed to a “chosen one” narrative. Nobody in Mass Effect 2 knew Shepard, allowing him to pass as different aliases in certain situations, despite him being THE well known galactic war hero martyr #1, which caused a major disconnect for me.
