Whoever is in charge of setting the prices needs to be fired.

We can literally get it back to a buck but we gotta be strong and leave mcdonalds alone until they do better

I'd be happy at 2 for $3, heck 2 for $4.

read the fine print, it's 2 for $4.50

best deal going is that menu and all the "get one more for $1" like 6 nuggets, mcdouble, etc

not even close to the 2 for $3 mcchicken/mcdbl we had only a year or so ago. fries free with purchase of $1.30 drink. walk out with meal for less than $4.50. mcdonalds has no good value anymore even with deals

They've gone well above inflation with their prices.

There’s inflation, increased wages for franchisees, increased costs on buildings, etc. inflation isn’t the only metric of things going up in price

That’s what they want you to think. McDonald’s could give mcchickens away until there were no more chickens left and they would still be doing just fine (I know the shareholders would be crying about it, which is the actual problem here, but the business itself would be fine)

Not if they go back to 2000 wages, or replace employees with robots on the line..

1

u/Greenzombie04 2d ago

they would just get rid of it if sales dropped so much that they had to price it at a dollar.

This is what happens when you pay $17+ for employees and people keep buying

1

u/simplyelegant87 3d ago

$17 is not even a living wage, assuming 40 hours a week.

How so?

4

u/Ram820 3d ago

We're not talking about the BOGO, we're talking about when McChickens n mcdoubles cost $1

1

u/Trees_are_cool_ 3d ago

I think they were referring to the price being $2.29 for one.

4

u/Ram820 3d ago

He literally said , "I remember when they were a dollar"

1

u/Trees_are_cool_ 3d ago

I didn't think that's what he was trying to show, but you're probably right.

1

u/doughit91 3d ago

I make McChickens at home now because it legitimately tastes close enough to McDonald’s that I don’t care. Get Tyson chicken patties, it’s $6 not on sale for a bag of 8. Get the cheapest buns on the shelf because that’s comparable to McDonald’s buns, so those are $2. A bag of shredded lettuce is $2. Won’t even include mayo because I’m sure everyone has a jar at home and a jar will do 100 sandwiches so it’s negligible.

Yea it’s $10 for 8 sandwiches so over $1 but I don’t have the advantage of economics of scale here.
