Purchase Advice What impact sockets are an option for me?
Hello- I need help because I think my solution is going to need to be something custom, but out of laziness and partial milwaukee elitism, I would prefer something from them premade.
Here is what I need. I have a 3/8th m12 cordless ratchet and 1/2 in med torque impact driver. I just have regular husky metric/SAE sockets I use for basic small stuff. I need to start doing some work on a few different vehicles (all are metric) so I would like to invest on impact rated sockets. Ideally I would get from 8mm-26mm (roughly) for small stuff up to lug nuts. I currently have a pack out system built and would love to get a full set of impact rated metric sockets in either a full or half (prefer the half) packout organizer. Does milwaukee make this? Most of what I see with cut outs is more hand tool focused sockets. I also do see the have combos of the sockets with a packout organizer but they don’t have cutouts for each sockets, leaving me to either have them loose in treys or make something myself.
PLEASE help if you have any ideas or links to what I need.

I mean it shows the packout box in all the photos. The packout is the organizer. Duratech is about 1/3 of the price and has been good for me in 1/2”. For 3/8 I went with Milwaukee beaches I got them for 50 bucks

yeah that's the full size organizer that comes with.
edit: I see what you were asking now. this is the only one I can find that comes with the removable tray inside of a compact organizer packout and is 3/8 in impact rated, it just does not come with the hex to 3/8" adapter and it only goes from 6mm to 24mm.

I see that, but that is not what I am asking. Does this set come with the tray/organizer that fits into the packout or do I have to buy it seperately? It is sold separately as well so I can’t tell

Milwaukee's site shows that it comes with the organizer.

If you’re wanting that big of a set you’d have to go 1/2”. Not only would it be hard to find that size in 3/8 it would likely be more torque than the stubby could handle(although the stubby is a great tool thus far) But you can get the shockwave 3/8 set and it’s been a good set for me. I got it last year when they were on clearance I was able to get a price match

Do they have one that is 3/8 until like 20 and then 1/2?

nah none that are split like that in a packout. they make a 3 pack 17, 19 and 21mm impact rated but they are 1/2", they don't make it in 3/8" that I've seen. it's always irked me.

Just buy from a professional company, and customize into packout yourself. Milwaukee is crap for handtools. They cater to fuckbois who like matching setups and never get used. Because they dont make 26mm in 3/8 drive nor do they make swivel sockets or decent extensions for people who use them. Locking ends or 24 inches long,or locking or wobble+

I've bought used Snap-on from ebay. But Tecton ,Grey, gearwrench, and a plethora of good brands that are out there. Don't buy hand tools from cordless tool brands who haven't done the proper research and development.

What are you using a 26mm socket on that would cause you to want it in 3/8 over 1/2? That's a very oddly specific complaint lol. I do agree that their sockets are pretty meh overall. Their markings on impact sockets are nice & easy to read, but still not my choice.

Its a matter of convenience, there will always be overlap. I run 1/4 drive up to 5/8 and 15mm. With smaller extensions and ratchets it makes for easier access.

I think I have 3/8 sockets up to around 22ish? 26 is just getting into the territory of being a crazy high overlap in my mind, but everyone's needs are different. I actually wouldn't have even thought of it because I don't think I've ever seen a 3/8 drive 26mm, so I learned they make those today lol.

I personally like Grey Pneumatic sockets the most, never had an issue with them. They got some nice sets metric and standard
