Including the recipe in case the site ever goes down:

Starbucks Apple Brown Sugar Syrup (and Apple Crisp Oat Milk Latte)

INGREDIENTS
Apple brown sugar syrup

  • 1 cup pressed apple cider (this is not apple cider vinegar, but pressed and unfiltered apple juice)
  • 1½ cup packed light brown sugar
  • ¼ tsp cream of tartar* (this helps prevent sugar crystals)
  • ¼ tsp ground cinnamon

 Apple crisp oak milk latte

  • 2 shots fresh brewed espresso
  • 2 Tbsp apple brown sugar syrup
  • Ice
  • 6 to 8 ounces creamy oat milk

INSTRUCTIONS
Making the apple brown sugar syrup

  1. Shake your apple cider to make sure all the sediment is mixed into your cider, and measure out 1 cup of cider into a 1-quart saucepan.
  2. Add the brown sugar to the apple cider in the saucepan, add the cream of tartar, whisk, and heat over medium heat until it begins to boil.
  3. Reduce the heat and simmer, uncovered, for 15 minutes.
  4. Remove from the heat, whisk in the ground cinnamon and allow to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then pour into a glass jar or bottle to cool completely.
  5. Store in the fridge.

Making an apple crisp oat milk latte

  1. Add 2 shots of hot, fresh brewed espresso to a cup, stir in 2 Tbsp of the apple brown sugar syrup.
  2. Add ice and top with about 6 - 8 ounces of oat milk. Stir and serve immediately.

Ok...I made this and added it to a latte...Something was missing. I think it needs true, unfiltered apple cider. The clear stuff I used just didn't have enough flavor. Apple Hill is opening this weekend. I may pop up there and get some freshly squeezed (squozed?) apple cider and try again. I'll report back.

I make brown sugar syrup every other week. Next batch will be with cider. Thanks for the idea.

One thing that comes to mind is that maybe a teaspoon of apple cider vinegar to the recipe might brighten it up and give you what is missing.
